Yo Yo Trees And Elves!

I've been making and selling yo yo tress and elves and it's so much fun!

I've been humming Jingle Bells

and We Are Santa's Elves as I work.
Big thanks to Creative Breathing Elizabeth who gave me my first yo yo maker and gave me to the nudge to sell my crafts!

Hope you're enjoying the Holidays!

The Ghost of Pictures Past

Hello blog friendies!  Do you remember my Christmas hutch from last year?

The challenge will be to make it just as cute this year- yet different.

I have more vintage Christmas items and dishes to add this year but not much.

Looking at these old pics gives me inspiration for this year!

I look forward to seeing all of your holiday decor!
Have a great day!

Thrifting for Christmas

The Christmas items have hit the Goodwill!
It took a lot of searching thru row after row but I found these 2 vintage angel tree toppers.  I collect these so now I have 4.  My dream is to find *The One* that I had in childhood- a rare black haired one with her hair in a bun.
I also found this fat and very vintage Holly garland- about 5 Ft long!
I love it!

I've been undressing the hutch, dusting it and washing the previous occupants- Pyrex and Melamine, etc.  Then of course I have to organize my kitchen cupboards to make room for it all!  Once that is done, I'll start Bobby will start taking down the Christmas boxes to decorate the hutch!
Hutch 1rst- then the tree.  That's the order and it takes a few weeks!
But this year, my feet don't hurt!  Yay!

Hope you're all having fun!

Bring On The Christmas!

I can't hold back any longer!
For those of you who believe in one holiday at a time, don't comment because I don't need that kind of negativity in my life!  Ha-ha!

These Santa mugs and the spaghetti Santa were in the dollar
ROOM at the Clarkston Antique mall called the Hangar.  (It's in an old airplane hangar)
That's my kind of dollar store!

I've been busy, busy making Christmas yo yos for elves and hope to have one finished to show you soon.
The last 6 months have been a very difficult time in my life and I look forward to the Christmas cheer.

Christmas time is my favorite time to blog and I look forward to seeing your Christmas posts!

A Collection Starts

Hello fellow blogging friends!
I found these sweet Lustoware shakers when I went antiquing with my son for my birthday.
They have cracks on their backs so they were only $4.00 for the pair!
They needed a bit of scrubbing up too but I never mind that.

I think treasure hunting is so fun- don't you?
I never buy much since I live in a small house but I always manage to find a little something to make me smile!

Hope you're all enjoying your fall!

Three Makes A Collection!

I finally found my third painted sifter!  It has a wonderful red wooden knob AND a chunky red handle!  there's a little decal on the front, too.
It has been happily added to my red and green sifter
 AND my apple sifter!
Here's all three together so you can see the size difference.

There's just something about them- like a hug from my mother and grandmother.

I don't have any large collections.  I would become bored with collecting only one thing.  I probably have more Pyrex than anything else.  Or maybe baby planters- or is it suitcases?

Hope you're all enjoying fall!  I don't really do Halloween but I do love fall.  I only wish it lasted longer.  Winter comes early when you live in the north!

Thanks for coming by!

New Dresser For The Craft Room

Hello bloggers!  How are you?
I guess this is a decal season for me because I found *another* pink decaled item on my second birthday shopping trip!  First the cradle when I went with my hubs and now this dresser that I found with my son!
I put it on top of my new vintage craft table!  I have fabric and trims in all the cute drawers.
See my new appliances on the table, too?  That gives you an idea of their size.
I'm keeping supplies in them and on them because they serve a purpose other than just being cute!
I sure am being treated like a queen lately but after the summer I had, I needed some pampering (and not the diaper kind)

Thanks for coming by!  I love your comments

Pink Appliances!

Yippee!  After years of wishing for tiny tin/toy pink appliances- my wish finally came true!

A stove and sink sitting side by side in a new to me antique shop- $20.00 each!  These are toys- only 8-9 inches tall.
My son took me antiquing in a new town for my birthday and it was so much fun!  These are sitting on my craft table right now- holding supplies.

I have more birthday goodies to show but I'll do that in another post!

Thanks for stopping by.
I hope you are well and that you know you are loved!

Fireplace Mantel

Even though I haven't had a fire yet, I finally went ahead and decorated my mantel!  Green glass ware and Indian corn from the Goodwill, berry/ pumpkin sprig and mini pumpkins from Walmart and leaf garland from Joanns.  I like the garland because it's so full.  I'm thinking about putting a bit of frosty glitter on it but I'm not sure.  (Of course I've changed the mantel since snapping this pic!)

It looks so pretty with the twinkle lights and candles lit!  It's so hard to get a good pic with the mirror there but I'll keep trying!

Are you wondering why I haven't used the fireplace yet?  I'm making myself wait until the room is all re-done!  This is going to be my spa/nature room so I'm totally redoing it!  I've been gathering ideas on pinterest and started a board I'm calling Forrest Chic.  I'm also not sure which wall the fireplace will be on so everything has to be juuuust right (and cold) until I can use it!  I'm funny that way.  I like to wait on good things- savor the newness.

My eldest son took me on an antique buying trip for a belated birthday gift!  If you're not with me on facebook, I'll be showing my finds here soon.

Hope you're all having a happy fall!  I'm feeling happier than I have in a long while and THAT'S a good thing!

Cutest Cradle Ever!

Hello bloggy friends!  You know how I love old decals- right?

Well, I found this doll cradle on my birthday treasure hunting trip!

I gasped when I saw it!

Decals on both sides!

It's currently holding fabric and my yo yo kit- right next to my computer table.

For some reason, I am not a doll person.  If that surprises you, don't worry- I'm hard to figure out.

The bunnies with the balloons is my favorite decal.  Here's close ups of the rest.

Bobby spoiled me this trip- that's for sure!
Thanks for coming by and leaving me a comment!

Next post, I hope to share some design plans for my new "spa" room!

My Birthday Table!

Happy Birthday to me!
This 50s dinette was sitting outside under a carport at the antique mall we went to.  It was soooo dirty!

A guy saw me looking at it and said I could have it and the 4 chairs for $75.00!  The leaf was hidden underneath it.  I didn't even know it was there until after we bought it!

When the table is wet, it more closely matches the leaf color.  I'm researching how to shine it up for good!

And here's one of the chairs!  This one was in the best shape!  All the others are torn.

Here's a close up.  This pattern is called cracked ice and it reminds me so much of my mom!

I had fun scrubbing it up and shining it!

For now it's sitting on the front porch but it will be joining the table in my craft room tomorrow!

I found more fun things on my birthday shopping trip but I'll save them for another post!
