My Vintage Suitcase

This is a small hard backed vintage case that I've had for the longest time. I have no idea where it came from! It's been used for all sorts of things through the years. I have big plans for this case some day- paint it, decoupage it... H-mmm...
But right now it's just brown and it's my portable crafting case! It holds whatever I'm working on at the time and I can move it around the house to the table I want to work on.

Uh-oh! Looks like it holds other things, too! It's that silly kitty again! Do you think she's trying to tell me something? :>

Yesterday, Micah and I started having body aches, pains, dizziness and weakness. BUT! I was able to do a lot of writing and crafting. AND that cold snap has snapped on out of here and 29 degrees feels warm compared to the below zero temps we had been having. All is never lost. I was supposed to have a girl friend over today but it looks like I'll have to cancel. BUT! My oldest son called me last night! There's always something to be thankful for and things could always be worse. (I still wish someone would finish my painting for me, though!)
Hee-hee!
Have a good day, girls!
You brighten my Winter.

Morning, Noelle! Yeah, I didn't wake up cold one time last night because it was "up" in the 20s. Ha-ha! The roads are just terrible here in the hills! Yikes! Glad i'm not going anywhere. so are you home bound?

Hey Holly, I am late making the rounds today. Sunday's are busy! I hope you and Micah are feeling okay! Are you feeling better now? I have an old suitcase I bought at a flea market with grand ideas of what to do with it, but it still sits, doing nothing. I love what some girls do to them. Your kitty looks so cute in the suitcase. Hi, Twyla! Micah's feeling better and I'm feeling worse. Whatever it is, at least it doesn't seem to last long. Yay!

You are desperately making me wanting to get a kitten! Siva is an angel. But our Poochie may not share the house with a kitten. P.S. I am still searching for those plates!!Plates and any dinnerware are an obsession with me so I am determined to find them. Have a good Monday!!!

I love the suitcase idea, I've also seen people with little ones like me who use them to keep dress up clothes together. Mine is more like a small travel case, and I think I may just start using mine for crafting storage. I'll keep little fingers out of my embroidery floss! Thanks for the concern over our rear ending! And even if you didn't make the cookies, you still put together a really fun and cute blog. The design works well together!

Hey Holly...
I do hope that you and Micah get to feeling better real soon. Maybe it will pass quick. Your suitcase with the kitty in it is perfect for a portable craft carrying case...it would be perfect for a decoupage project...your kitty has found the perfect spot for a nap...she's got the right idea for relaxing....

Hi Holly,
Hope you are feeling well...I had a stack of old suitcases and they held "junk" plus they were a decoration in my livingroom. I have painted 1 and it's not done. It's also a gift for a friend. I'm trying to make more gifts this year:)Your little kitty looks just prefect in the suitecase.
Happy Monday.
Warmly,
Deb

Hello, thank you for stopping by. I'll post a pic of the inside of that cake box next week for ya! Your blog is so cute, I love cats too! I have one that I actually went out and bought then I have 7 strays. I'm thinking about doing a blog post on them all. Suitcases are great for storing stuff in.
Bless You, Shirl

Holly, How funny! Who'd have thought Noelle remembered that suitcase! It was my Mom's! Gee, does she forget I'm old and that was what we carried? At least i'm not so old to have had a cardboard suitcase! Heck, she probably doesn't even know what those are, do you? Yep, first dear daughter goes to see the new wedding movie, now the craft store! UGH, she always leaves me home, boo-hoo! Gee, guess i'll have to go alone! Stay warm! Yea right huh? Love ya,Lori

Hi Holly! I have a vintage traincase that I picked up for 50 cents this summer. I want to paint it so badly. I thought I could use it for when I travel...I'd add my sewing stuff in it and make pin cushions on the road! You know what!!!!!!! We should paint or decorate ours together! That would be so much fun! I could see yours with cupcakes or scottie dogs!!!! :) Mine could be pink with white polka dots...or something like that. Anyways... Thank you for stopping by and missing me!

I am going thru some tough stuff here at home and blogging has kinda taken a back seat. I have been posting Pink Saturdays to stay in the loop. But I have alittle free time tonight and decided to visit my friends.

Love the tags! I have been buying stuff to make some and put in my etsy shoppe along with lots of other goodies but have been preoccupied here! Marriage stuff! :(

Have a blessed night. hugs, Ellen

May the Lord strengthen you, Ellen! Even though tough times make tough people- it's still NO fun! But I'm cheering for you Ellen and so is the Lord!

~ hugs ~

I'd love to see a pic of your train case. That would be fun to decorate our cases together! Have you researched the how-tos of painting them?

sweetmemorymakingmom said...

Hi Holly. YOu are so sweet! You are right. It is in the Lord's hands. I will try to take a picture of my traincase. I have done some preliminary research but haven't gotten any specific answers. But I think it would be fun to do them and chronicle them on our blogs together. IF you are interested I can look in to it and maybe we could decide the month to do it in. Just a thought.

Have a Blessed Day. hugs, Ellen
