A New Vintage Hankie Bunting

Yay! I can finally show you one of my recent projects! It's hard to keep secrets from my girls! This is the new Vintage Hankie Bunting that I made for Christie/Queenie. I hung it on my computer room window so it could pose for these pictures but its gone to live at Queenie's now.
Queenie left the color choices up to me so I went with a Red and White theme for Valentines day.

The trims are sort of hard to see against the white lace but they're so pretty...

I tried Red Roses but it didn't look right... There *is* a science to these things! :>

Queenie says she'll show us how it looks at her house.

I love the way the sun comes through here in the morning!

Oh girls, I can't wait to show you my other projects, too!
AND I have an open house give away coming up soon so stay tuned!
Hope you all have a happy and worry free day!!!

Wow! I'm the first to visit this morning! Your bunting, or should I say Queenie's, is so pretty. You did a beautiful job on it. I look so forward to seeing what else you've been working on, *wink*. Hope you're having a great day! Twyla

Very pretty hanky bunting. I did see your reason why for changing clothes. It's kind of like when we were little playing dolls and changed the baby dolls all day. I like your idea of open house giveaway!!

Yay, Twyla! You were first this morning! I keep trying to get good pics of Lindsey's goodies before I wrap 'em up and send them off!

Gin, I didn't mind that you laughed at me! :> I know I'm silly for changing so much.

Priscila, the Sweet Six girls say I can't sell the buntings so I guess I'll just have to make you one some time! ;>

Holly,
How adorable! One of these days I'll have to put mine all in one spot and see what I can come up with! Then if I mess up, I'll write you! There is this new spiral bound Gooseberry Patch book that has awesome hankie ideas. I get mine at the library, great book! later,Lori .P.S. Am having a crabby day, thank goodness it's almost over!

Hi Again Holly,
Gee too bad we live apart cause I cold steal you while Noelle's away! So is Virginia freezing? Were to get some snow. And dropping temps, oh well, it is winter in IN and you never know the weather here. Well I am finally getting tied and going to run. Later,Lori

Good morning, Lori! Didn't see you comment till this morning. I'm an eraly to bed person.

Thanks for the tip of looking for Gooseberry books at the Library! My library is pretty small, but you never know!

We've been frezzing at night but it got up to 60 yesterday! Wow! So nice! It would have been a perfect day to work in the yard but I had a head ache ALL day long! Groan! Virginia Winters are warm/cold warm/cold. It's nice because you get a little break and then it turns into Winter again. Helps you hold on until Spring!

I can tell you how I made my Hankie Buntings- just can't give you the Sweet Six tutorial that I used.

The main trick is coming up with 3 hankies that compliment each other and then finding the right trims that do the same.

Well, Lori, I sure would let you "borrow" me if we lived closer! Ha-ha! I could be your little girl! Ha-ha! But I'm sure we must be too close in age to pull that one off! :>

You did an excellent job on the Vintage Hankie Bunting... Some folks might frown upon me, but I actually use most of my hankies... it's not easy being old 'n having Hot Flashes!! Looking forward to seeing your next project!

Hey Holly!
Girl, I love my hankie bunting...it's so beautiful! I can hardly wait to do a blog on it...I want my other blog friends to see it too. I read Pricilla's comment here.... and noticed that she was asking you the price and if you'd take orders....would you seriously be interested in taking orders from other people too....as Pricilla asked about? I thought I could include that on my blog about placing an order for one, when I post pictures of mine. No pressure though...I just bet there are alot of people that would be interested in one. I don't want to pressure you though, at all, it is completely up to you. Girl, you could get rich off of these pretties you make. You know that? I'll tell you girl...I have always wanted one of those hankie buntings....from the first time I saw yours. It brought me to tears that you would want to make one for me. I will keep it forever...and it will always remind me of our friendship. I was over at Romantic Home Blog and Cindy's got one in her bedroom too. I think everybody in the brother is gonna end up wanting one of these beautiful creations of yours! Hope you have a beautiful weekend...I would have been over here sooner, but me and Robert went to Destin yesturday first thing in the morning...I shopped til I dropped and then we went to the beaches to take in some sites and sounds of the ocean...I took some blog pics too, for my nature blog.... then when I got home I passed out on the couch before 8pm. LOL! I was pooped!

Thanks, Pearl! Hey, if you want to use your hankies for their original intent then you go for it! This is America- right? :>

Oh, Queenie! I'm glad you like your bunting so well but I *can't* sell them! I was taught how to make them "at" the Sweet Six studio and we are not allowed to sell anything they taught us how to make- I guess because the SS artists want to sell them... :< They are fun to make though!

What is an open house giveaway?!
Sounds VERY INTERESTING!!
Kailee and PaPa are playing, so I have some "ME Time"...
off to read blogs and maybe I'll have time to post one myself.

Been meaning to tell you this came out very cute, I've got a few vintage hankies but they're of random colors and such. Also, I don't have nearly enough to go across my windows.

Holly said...

Thanks, Katie! Good to see you. ♥

Ya know, the cool thing about these buntings is that you can hang them anywhere! The girl who taught me how to make them strung hers across the top of her hutch and it looked so good there. I fugured I'd end up moving mine all around the house but I love where I have it so it's staying put!
