Garage Sailing!

I'm so excited, girls! Bobby, Micah and I went for the first garage sale outing of the season! The day was perfectly warm- not too hot like it usually is when I try to go. (I *really* dislike climbing into a hot car and driving off to yet another sale.) We only found one sale in our own little town so we headed for the next town over but didn't have any success there at all. We decided to head home and on our way back, we saw a "Multi- Family Sale" sign. Yahooey!! So... here are my carefully chosen treasures...

I finally found an old ornate frame. It's really big and it was only $3.00! Here it is with all its cobwebs and rusty wire. I have big plans for this frame so stay tuned! One of my hopes and dreams is to replace the wicker furniture I had to part with many moves ago so I was excited to see this table below. Finding used wicker in good condition is not easy but I think this little side table was a steal at $7.00! I also found this nice, chunky basket that's sitting on top. I use baskets for storage all over my home. I might paint this one up cute. Here's a close up of the details on the table. It has an antique/Victorian look to it-doesn't it? I smile every time I see it. I'm not sure where I will put it yet but I might use it as a shelf on my craft tables...

And of course, ya gotta have your tiny treasures, too! You'll probably think I'm silly taking so many pictures of this next item but it so Eeeked me! ☺ Here's Mama kitty with baby kitty in the cradle! ♥

Here's your rattle, sweetie! ♥

We also found a nice electric space heater for a good deal. Not the kind of thing that makes your heart go pitter- pat but very practical, eh? Bobby and Micah found a few "guy things" here and there too. After the slim pickins I've been seeing at the GW lately, it was nice to finally be rewarded for my hunting!

*******************************************************
Thanks for coming by today, girls! I'll be cutting back on my posts from now on since I'm spending so much time outside these days. I think like most of you, Winter time will be my main blogging/crafting time. I've also been Spring organizing. We've been losing stuff lately which is a good indication that it's time to de- junk and re- organize! I love it! I love a clean, organized home but I have a challenge here with lack of closet space. We only have 1 medium size closet and 2 tiny ones that you can barely even hang clothes in! Once my house is in better shape- the pool will be up and then I'll be getting tan and skinny! Swimming is such good exercise! I can hardly wait!

Hope you're all enjoying your Spring! ♥

hi! love that wicker table:) i have always wanted a little sunroom where i could put wicker furniture!! can't wait to see what you do with that frame!!

i hope to garage sale this weekend; since it will be my 1st lazy one; except for my big National Scrapbook Day on Sunday; but I don't think too many gals are coming, so i won't need to stress too much!

i have been chatting with brenda from country romance from the heart and am wondering if i don't have fibromyalgia! she has it, as so does my neighbor and my symptoms fit! it would explain all the muscle pain i have, amongst other things!!

chat later! enjoy your day outside; its cooler and rainy here today:(

hugs,
noelle ♥

Garage sailing! One of my favorite pastimes. When we find that a subdivision is having a multi garage sale, my hubby and I will look at each other and get all excited.

The wicker table is a great find!

Good morning, Noelle, Terrie, Melinda, Twyla and Vickie!

I've been busy watching the Dogwoods billowing and glistening White and the Robin birds singing in utter delight! ♥

Wow! You find such unusual things, and then present them so beautifully. I know what you mean about being outside--that's where I'm heading now.

But we'll miss you, you know.

Hi Holly,

What great things you found at the garage sale. That wicker table it too die for. Lucky you to have found such a great piece. I missed commenting on your post from yesterday as I've fallen a little behind. The wreath you made for your DIL is so cute.. I love it and I'm sure she will to. She's a very lucky girl to be receiving such a wonderful handmade gift from you.

Take care..

See what happens when you make me sing a song all day long, I have to get off Facebook!!!!! LOL I'm glad you read on my blog the reason why...just thought it best for now to not have it due to family issues. They're all going to drive me to drink, I tell ya! lol

Love the treasures you found at the yard sales. You would have loved the auction I went to last weekend, they had a whole assortment of white wicker furniture and it was all in excellent shape. Went for practically nothing. I wish I would have had the room for it because I would have loved to get it.

Yard/garage sales will probably be starting up around here this coming weekend. I hope to go to a few of them...like I need more stuff but hey, it's fun! hehe xoxo

Holly,
Please please pretty please don't cut back on your posts!! I would miss them a lot! I read your blog everyday, and I enjoy it so much. I've been a lurker on here for awhile now,and I thought tonight that I would come out of lurking and write to you. I've read all of your archives. I really love the wicker table. And I, too, will be anxious to see what you do with the large frame. Anyway, just thought I would BEG you to NOT cut back on your posts. Your blog is one of my favorites!! Also, I have been praying about homeschooling my 2 girls next year, but I'm so iffy about it lately. How did you handle it when you had multiple kids to teach in diffirent grades? That's what I'm worried about. I am just so tired of my kids coming home each day with 3 to 4 hours of homework each day! And they are only in 3rd and 5th grades! That's too much! That is the main reason that I want to homeschool them. Well, sorry to write so much. I would love for you email me!! By the way, I almost named my 2nd daughter, Holly. What a coincedence! I just love your name. Please email me, please.

Hi Holly!

I love all your yard sale finds and I'm so glad that you're beginning to replenish your wicker furnishings and the little mummy kitty with baby kitty is just adorable. I'm going to be cutting back on blogging a bit too as I need to get myself and my home way more organized.
Anyway sweetness thank you for sharing you finds and I'll look forward to what you do to the frame and basket :)

Take care!

Well hello there Hilda! ♥

So, a lurker comes out of hiding! ☺ I hope that from now on, you will feel more free to comment!

I'm glad you don't want to see me cut back on posting but we *can* email! I'd be glad to answer any questions about homeschooling or just chit chat by email!

I'll shoot you an email this morning but I don't know how much time I'll have to write since this is the day that I have to share the computer. ♥

Melly, I have always loved whicker and i was just so thrilled with that table1 It's a higher quality and style than the one I had to give up. Isn't that just like the lord? ☺ ♥

Pearl, I saw your answer to me. ☺ Thanks! Our weather is supposed to be cooling down which is fine by me. I'll take 70 over 90 any day! ♥

Hi! I remember the pretty wicker furniture you had in the mobilehome in WA. But this table that you found is real nice! We don't have garage sales over here but there's something similar called "Loppis." I never go to those though because we don't have room for any more stuff in our house!
Love,
Rika

Hi, Priscila! ♥ So good to see you!

Our thrift store prices have gone up a lot since Jan. Too bad- still cheaper than new though.
The cost of living is nice and low here but- so are wages! There's just no perfect place except IN HIM!

Thanks for coming by! ☺

I really like your wicker table, that design detail is so cute. Hey I noticed your milk glass vase, sometime you'll have to show us the rest of it. It looks a lot like mine. Just wondering if we have the same one!

Holly said...

Guess what, Katie? That milk glass vase came from a back woods Michigan dump! Ha! My 2 youngest boys brought it home to me and it was BLACK, yucky, ew! I thought I'd never get it clean but I finally did. It's the same vase that my Pink flowering almonds were in. I think I showed the whole vase there. I'll go look. ♥
