It's Time For My Open House /Valentines Day Give Away!!!

I wanted to have a sweet and special "open house" give away to say thank you to all my e girls for supporting my brand new blog! What could be better than cake?! Look at these "slices of cake" that my friend Cheryl makes! They're cute fabric covered boxes with yummy fabric and trims inside! { All photos courtesy of Cheryl.}

Cheryl didn't intend for these boxes to be used for permanent storage for your trims but I think the slices are so cute that I would try to open them veeeeery carefully to try and save them!

This give away will have a first and second place. Irst place will be the small, medium and large box you saw above.

When Cheryl found out that these slices of cake were for a give away, she included an EXTRA piece of cake and some extra trims too! Thanks again, Cheryl! So the small poka dot slice below and some extra trims (not pictured) will be for the second place winner!

Cheryl was one of my Sweet Six Art Retreat instructors and she's always making the cutest things for her shops! These cake slices came from her Etsy shop HERE.

Okay, now on to the details! Just leave a comment on THIS POST to be entered in the give away. On Feb. 13, I will draw the first and second place winners. (It will be so hard to choose only 2!!!!) I will then announce the winners on Valentines day. I don't plan on "advertising" this give away but it's open to all girls and girls at heart.
Are you ready?

Sneak Peak At My Open House Give Away and Valentine Goodies From Noelle

I'm planning on announcing an open house give away tomorrow and here's a sneak peek....
So be sure and come back tomorrow for details!
{Hee-hee! Ain't I mean? ☺}

Nah, not mean- just love to tease!
When I came home glowing from my retail therapy the other day, Bobby wanted to take a bunch of pictures of me. I might make this my new profile pic but I think it might be too "scratchy". See, told ya I like big dangly earrings!

Half way through the "photo shoot" ;> I decided I should "pose" with something special that the awesome Miss Noelle sent me this week! See the heart candle holder? Isn't it cute?! She painted it up for me, added ribbon and a votive cup! She actually sent me a box FULL of valentine goodies -just because! (Y'all probably think I'm so spoiled! But I promise you, I deserve it! Ha-ha!)

It's kind of hard to tell what's what in this pic but she sent me candy in a cute bag, a cute bird house picture frame, a stand alone votive cup with hearts applied to it, some PINK trim, and a bunch of punched paper hearts in a heart shaped box! Hey, and it's not even swap time yet! I was so tickled!

Thanks again, Noelle! You certainly brightened up our "sick room" environment and gave me a boost to go on!

Well, girls, Micah took a turn for the better yesterday! No stomach problems and increased energy! He ran and played in the sunshine! Thank you Lord and thanks to everyone who thought of him and talked to the Lord about him!
See ya later alligator!

Goodwill Retail Therapy

Morning girls! After spending so much time at home with a sick boy lately, I was really ready for some retail therapy yesterday! (I never even heard of that expression until recently!) Look at these pretty chair pads that I found! They are very soft and fluffy. They will go well in my dinning room. And I finally found a white tree! I hope to have 2 trees next year. A live, green traditional one like I usually have in the living room and then this white one in either the dinning room or computer room. Then I'll probably leave the white one up and change it to a Valentine tree and maybe even an Easter one! We'll see.
I also found 3 tops that I won't show because I hate how huge my clothes look on the hanger! ☺ (I am a confessed topaholic.) Let's see, I also picked up some books for the grand's next love package and I also found some secret things that I can't show because they are possible future gifts for bloggy friends! ☺ It's so much fun to see things that my e girls might like!

We'll be off to the Dr's. later today to see why Micah isn't getting well. I'm hoping Bobby will take some of his family leave because I am so drug out from the strain of all this. But- the Lord knows what I need!

Thanks for coming by and being my bloggy buddies!
Hope you all don't have to go to the Drs. today! Ha-ha!

My Decorating File

Hey there, girly! Is this your first time here? If it is, then you're one of my girls! Come on in and see what I have to show you today!
I've been buying and subscribing to decorating magazines for years but I've been moving all over the country for years, too! I decided I would just cut out pics that I like and toss the rest of the magazine. Then I glue the pics on printer paper and tuck them in a file folder for inspiration. Here's a few sample sheets from my very LARGE file. Be sure to click to enlarge for a close up view.

It might be a decorating or crafting idea that hits me- maybe even a storage solution. I don't ask myself *why* I like it. I just clip and glue it. It's fun to flip through all the pages and see some themes. It's also fun to dream up a home with all these pics! See that wood stove bellow? I clipped it recently because It's JUST like mine!

How do you like this wrinkled Aqua back drop that I have? Ha-ha!

Look, that rose covered building below is a chicken coop!!!

H-mmm... I must like white, wicker, roses and quilts!
Do you think Country Cottage describes me?
I like so many different styles, though!
What ever your style is, I hope you've enjoyed your visit here!
Remember girls, I like to reply to your comments when I can so be sure and check the follow up comments box if you want to receive them!

I hope some love is spread around to you today, girls!***************************************************************

After seeing how handy the "following" feature is, I've added it here for anyone who wants it. It sure saves on a lot of clicking! My mouse is grateful. :>

A New Vintage Hankie Bunting

Yay! I can finally show you one of my recent projects! It's hard to keep secrets from my girls! This is the new Vintage Hankie Bunting that I made for Christie/Queenie. I hung it on my computer room window so it could pose for these pictures but its gone to live at Queenie's now.
Queenie left the color choices up to me so I went with a Red and White theme for Valentines day.

The trims are sort of hard to see against the white lace but they're so pretty...

I tried Red Roses but it didn't look right... There *is* a science to these things! :>

Queenie says she'll show us how it looks at her house.

I love the way the sun comes through here in the morning!

Oh girls, I can't wait to show you my other projects, too!
AND I have an open house give away coming up soon so stay tuned!
Hope you all have a happy and worry free day!!!

It's Tag Time!

Mornin', girls! It's tag time!

I've been tagged by Syndee at http://lvpoohbr2.blogspot.com/ to list 8 random things about myself but first I wanted to talk about some OTHER tags!! :>

These 3 tags on the right were purchased from Lindsey at http://twocrazycrafters.blogspot.com/ and the tag on the left was purchased from Priscila. I also purchased a Christmas tag from Priscila but it's packed away till next year. (Be sure to click to enlarge!) Pretty cute, huh?! I just love them! I like how Priscila and Lindsey's tags are so different from one another yet each of them are special expressions of their art. I think one of the reasons I like tags so much is because they are little and I like little things but I also think it's interesting to see what an artist can do on such a small object.

Okay- 8 random things about myself...

1. I never go to town without my lipstick.

2. My favorite ice cream is Dryers Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough.

3. I haven't worn a pair of high heels since Junior high.

4. I once took a "Writing for Children" course and I loved it.

5. I usually end up changing my clothes several times a day.

6. I love big, dangly earrings.

7. My favorite flower is the Pansy and is tied for first place with Johny Jump- Ups.

8. I grow BIG babies. (Every boy I gave birth to was over 9 pounds.)

Was that random enough? ~ Grin ~

I'm supposed to pass this on to 8 people but I think I'll pass. ;> Ha-ha! Just call me, Rebel without a cause!

Today is my "at home movie date day" with my Bobby!

Hope you girls have a special day, too!

Highlight An Artist!

Ta-da! :> Happy Monday, girls! It's Highlight An Artist Time! Or in this case it's two artists.

Please let me introduce, mother and daughter team, Twyla and Lindsey !
Clap-clap-clap-clap! :>

Twyla and Lindsey have two sweet, online shops featuring knitted, crocheted and paper crafted items. In this post I'll be spotlighting their Fancy That Shoppe located at Etsy.http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5993542 Unless they've already been sold, the items above (which I added at the last minute) and following items can be found there.

Isn't this scarf just soooo pretty! Twyla crocheted it! I love the flower. (And their dress form, too!!) Twyla makes these scraves in all sorts of different color combinations and every one of them is just so beautiful.

Twyla also knits house shoes. I have a pair just like the ones bellow and they are so soft, cute and warm! I live in them! I would much rather buy something hand made with love, skill and beauty than something made by a factory!

Here's what Twyla said about her crafts in our little "unofficial" interview.

Holly: I know you started knitting at a young age, Twyla. what age was that and how does knitting make you feel? Relaxed? Happy? Can you give a word or even more than one?

Twyla: I started knitting when I was 11. The first thing I learned to make were the house shoes. I love to knit and it soothes me. Crochet is like my soul at play and knitting is my soul at peace. I can't imagine life without either.
*******************
Doesn't Twyla have a way with words!? I think she should write more often, don't you?
Here's another pair of Twyla's house shoes. They come in all sorts of colors or you can custom order a pair!

Lindsey makes the cutest, quality tags! I own some and wish I could buy them all!
(Uh-oh, I think I'm becoming addicted to tags!!)
Look at these little girls!

Lindsey had this to say about working with paper.

Holly: Lindsey, would you say that you LOVE to make tags? What could I say about how working with paper crafts make you feel?

Lindsey: I really do love to make tags! I didn't want to make tags for a long time because there are so many out there I figured mine would just get lost. But then I started making them and loved doing it so much that it's all I want to do! I love paper crafting so much! Paper crafting makes me so happy! There are just so many endless possibilities for ways to use it!
***********************************************
Look at all those exclamation points! That's my kind of girl! :> I understand, Lindsey. My crafts make me just as happy!

Hello Kitty! These look so sweet!

Lindsey is a vintage Barbie collector so we have to have some Barbie tags-right?!

Love this out fit below!

Well, Girls, thanks for coming by! In my next post, I'll show you some of the items from Twyla and Lindsey's Lolishop! If you haven't been to Lolishops yet, you just have to go!

Highlight An Artist Part 2!

Hi, girls! This is part 2. Please see the post above for an introduction of our Two Crazy Crafters, Twyla and Lindsey!

The pics you see in this post are all the items you'll find at Twyla and Lindsey's Lolishop. http://www.lollishops.com/fancy-that (Unless of course some have been bought or I overlooked something!)

Look at this cute display for Twyla's dish cloths! Hand made dish cloths last and last!

Look! A Pink mushroom! How sweet! Twyla is making these in several different colors and she has them in both shops. Great displays, girls!

Lindsey made this sweet Gingerbread house over Christmas and it's still available!

Here's some more examples of Twyla's pretty scarves. Twyla, do you think I can order a waist like your dress form has? ;>

Twyla also has her cozy house shoes in their Lolishop. (I love to say that word- Lolishop!) Remember that Twyla takes custom orders.

Here's something else that Twyla makes- ear warmers! I bet all of us could have used these over the last week! B-rrrr! I think they are soooo pretty!

I just love this pink and yellow together- so sweet!

Oops! Gingerbread house! what are you doing here again? ~ Blush ~ Techno inclined, I am NOT! Ha-ha!

More sweet tags made by our Lindsey. This little girl so reminds me of my 4th grade!

When I was 8 or 9, I sooo wanted a muff like the little girl bellow has!

Sweet tags just in time for Valentines Day!

Eeek! I love the paper up top on these tags and the ones above.

I'm just so proud of Twyla and Lindsey and ALL my artist girls that have shops!
I hope you'll always keep creating and brightening our world with your crafts!
