A New Vintage Hanky Bunting

Happy Saturday, girls! Here's some pics of the new vintage hankie bunting that I made for Priscila. She chose these hankies in spring colors and I chose the embellishments. You really have to click to enlarge to see the details.

Priscila has it on her mantel with other Spring decor.
Guess what? I worked on painting the living room wall yesterday! I think I'll let Bobby put on the last coat of paint since he's offered several times. He does a much better job than I do and this has turned into:

*The Job That Wouldn't Get Done*

Staring- Holly the wimp...

I hate it and I want it to go away! ☺

I also worked on a spring collage just for me yesterday. Hopefully it will also get done and I can show it to you on Monday.

Have fun today, girls!

New Cuppy Pic

Here's one of my new projects, girls! I took this already cute Goodwill frame...and dolled it up a bit...

added a cuppy and gave it to Priscila for her birthday!

I also made Priscila a hankie bunting but I didn't have enough time to get a good picture of it! If she gets a good pic, I'll let you know!
Well, I think my Micah is finally really, really all better! Now, If I could just get to feeling better too, I'd be tearing around here like a tornado!
I might have a collage project to show you tomorrow and for sure I'll show you what's in my bag! ☺

The Green Green Grass Of Home

Girls, I'm tired of seeing *this*! I want to see this again! (Although I *do* want to paint the outhouse/pool house.)

I want to see *this* when I go on my morning walks!

I want to see Green grass, leaves and colorful flowers out front!

I want to see Micah and Bobby playing in the side yard with family and friends! (That's my Christopher home for a visit.) Look at all those green trees! See Pearis mountain? I climbed that!

Good things come to those who wait! Right?!

I know that once the heat, humidity and gnats of Summer are back, I'll be longing for cooler temps! If only life could be all Spring and Fall- no Winter or Summer. But that's not life, girls! At least not where *I* live. ☺ So, I guess we should just roll with the punches and snap back up on our feet ready for another Winter day- and wait. (I'll be waiting in bed with a sinus infection.)
And, I plan to be back on Friday to show you a recent project. until then, try to stay warm and take one day at a time. ♥

Slim But Pretty Pickin's

Happy Monday, girls! Are you ready?
I'm trying to be a bit more selective in my Goodwill shopping and it's a good thing because the pickin's have been pretty slim lately! I found these two pretties in the linens bin this week. I also found a mini Christmas tree made out of bells but I won't show you that because we're all thinking Spring! Right? ☺
I let Micah take this pic for me. He's learned all sorts of new things on the camera in the last couple of weeks. It's really great because he turns around and teaches me!
I plan on shaking off the February blues today and I hope I succeed! I can tell my body is CRAVING sunshine! Hang in there, girls! Spring's a comin'!

Swap Fun From Lindsey And Twyla!

Lindsey and I did a one on one vintage Valentine swap and Twyla wanted to send me some surprises, too! No complaints here! ☺ This is what I saw when I opened the box. Oh my, what to open first?! Wanna guess? It was hard to decide!

I opened the "take out" box first and there was a little crocheted cupcake from Twyla in it! It's very soft and squeezable! Look at all this fun! It was hard to get everything into just one picture! That largest round package was an adorable Valentine wall hanging that Lindsey made. I'll show you a close up in a second.

In the upper right hand corner are some old red and white quilt scraps from Twyla! She also tucked in some of my mom's plates. See the Valentine scrap book paper bellow? I was tickled that Lindsey sent me some because I had seen some of it on another blog and I was wishing I was a town girl so I could get some!

Here's a close up of the wall hanging that Lindsey made. Isn't it sweet? I love the little puppies! The back ground is glittery cup cake paper! Too cute!

Look at these cupcake picks! They match the scrap book paper and gift bags that Lindsey sent. You girls who live in or near the city have access to such great stuff!

Can you spot the real vintage valentines bellow? The cupcake bellow is a note pad that will work so well in my kitchen.

Here's a close up of some bunny tags that Lindsey made! Aren't they just so sweet?

Thank you for everything Lindsey and Twyla! ♥ It sure was a fun package to play with. I still have everything sitting out on my dinning room table so I can play with it all and look at it as I walk by! (Well, except the heart shaped lollipops that I already let Micah eat!)

Hope you all have a nice day!

Before It Hits The File!

Hi sweet girls! I thought it would be fun to show you what I clipped recently for my decorating file!
I love this Pink/White combo with the rustic thrown in. I decorate my house each Spring with blooms from my flowering trees and bushes but I never thought of placing a container on the floor like this and using such large branches. I have 2 apple trees and I think I will cut a limb from one this year to copy this idea. Or maybe I'll cut from my Plum, Pear, Lilac, Pink Flowering Almond, Forsythia, Spirea... ☺ I love Spring!

Sweet Card

Hey, girly girls! I'm sending some goodies off to the grands tomorrow so I made a little card to tuck in. Isn't it sweet? I'm kind of on a Pink check and Pink ric rac kick! I've been saving this bunny image for the longest time and I finally decided to just do it! Uh-oh, I hope the children don't see it here first since they like to look at Gramma's blog! I'll have to warn their Momma! The backdrop for this card is the last scrap of wrapping paper that I've been using for Elizabeth since her second birthday! I'm saving this scrap to use in scrap booking for her- one of these days! When I see it, I am flooded with memories of the first girl in our family. ♥

I hope you have an exceedingly wonderful day, girls!

Bridge Card From Jenny

Look at this totally sweet little vintage valentine that Jenny from The Red Bulletin board gave me! It's actually a bridge scoring card. Sorry it's so bright. It wasn't a good camera day! When I think of the game of Bridge, I think of June Cleaver! Seems like she had a Bridge club... That's the era that comes to my mind, anyway.

When you play bridge, you have to have a little score card. What a great keepsake! Let's put on our pearls and go play, shall we?

Here's the inside of the card. I Don't know if you can read it. I looked up the rules of the game through Google and I was going to post them here but just reading them made me want to cry! Ha-ha! I'll stick to Uno.

Thanks for coming over, girls! And Thanks again for the card, Jenny!

Clean Craft Room And The Be Mean Game!

Ta-da! Clean craft tables! There's not even any kitties on there! (Although they do love to climb those blue lace panels!) And- clean craft *room*! You can actually see the floor! You can also see that I store things *under* the tables!

My sweet husband is *very good* about bringing me home boxes and bubble wrap and I'm *very bad* about letting them pile up in the craft room! But no more! Out they go to storage from now on so I can actually USE my craft room. What a concept.
************************************************************

Well, girls, Lindsey really caught the glitteriness of the pink rag wreath I showed you yesterday. You can go here to see it!

*************************************************

And if you haven't already, be sure to enter our give away here.

**********************************************

And now, I just have to tell you all how much I enjoy my little boy. Sure, I would have loved to have a girl but boys are so much fun! A sense of humor is essential to enjoying them, though! Last night, we played, "Do Something Mean To Me". Sound like a boy's game? Micah made it up and sometimes I just can't get into it but last night, I was on a roll! It goes like this:

Micah will walk up to me and say, "Come on, Mom! Do something mean to me!" And then he'll get ready to dodge me while I try to catch him. That's when I have to have a sense of humour and a bit of villainy! AKA "think like a boy". ☺ So last night I did the following and more:

wrenched his nose 3 Stooges style-and hard! sprayed perfume on him, tickle tortured him, made him look in the mirror while trying to keep one of my pretty hats on him while I said, "Look at pretty Micah!" wiped his face with a dirty dish rag, made him my "pretty pony" but lead him to the toilet to get his drink ( but of course I didn't make him!) made him hit himself, made the pretty pony "eat" apple peelings, Ha-ha-ha-ha! All this is with much chasing and laughter! I would say, "Heeeeere pretty little pony or heeeere pretty little Micah...." And he would laugh in fear of what I'd do next and try to hide from me. So, anyway, that's how you make memories with preteen boys. Such things really impress them!

Have a great day girlfriends!

One On One Swap With Lindsey

Okay girls, I've just been livin' to show you this! I don't know if I've ever had so much fun making anything else in my life! This is a Valentine banner I made for Lindsey for our one on one vintage card image swap.

I added "rags" in between the hearts and I love the way it turned out! I loved choosing the colors, ribbons, etc. Eeeek! This kitty in the high chair melts my heart!!!!

The little streamers were fun to design, too. Can you see the little hot Pink pom poms mixed in with the rags? Tina gave me those. As you can see, I'm just a little bit proud of this banner! ☺

I left it hanging here for several days so I could see it and tweak it -if need be. There are some things I would have tweaked but they were untweakable! Go ahead, look *that* one up in the dictionary! Hee-hee!

I also made this pink rag wreath for Lindsey. I love the way it turned out. I used solid Pink and Pink gingham rags, Pink glittery ric rac , Pink hearts ribbons, shimmery pink ribbon, Pink Polka dot ribbon and lace. It matches the banner. Choosing embellishments for my wreaths is the hardest part! Does anyone have any tips?

I added a glittered vintage poodle image because Lindsey likes poodles.

I kept putting the wreath in different spots to try and capture the glitter of the pink ric rac but I never quite caught it! I promise you, it's much cuter in person. Lindsey is a better photographer than I am so maybe she'll be able to capture it. I'll let you know when she posts about it.

And here is the whole swap not counting the banner. Well, not the whole swap! I'm always adding things at the last minute- like a Hello Kitty camera!! I altered the little jar shown here too but it actually was changed a bit before I sent it.

Well, girls... I know my Christmas banner up on the top of my blog is a bit outdated but I love the pastel colors! I'm going to leave it up for a bit until I can figure out how to make my own custom banner.
Also, I had to take away my cascading hearts because they quit working right! :<
I had wanted to go shopping this morning but since it's 11 degrees , I think I'll wait!
I hope it's a bit warmer where you are! I know it is for you California girls!
Be sure to enter my give away if you haven't already!

New Kitties And A New Chain Tag

Aw.... sweet sisters! Girls, This is Bunny (the black and white one) and Moonlight. Bunny is mine. She's a fat, fuzzy kitten who hops like a bunny and makes the most adorable little kitty noises when she hops! Also, when you pick her up and hold her, she holds her paws in a bunnyish way. Bobby and Micah wanted to keep Moonlight. She doesn't have much of a personality but she has a nice face and she will be a beautiful cat when she grows up. Micah discovered Bunny asleep in my bling basket the other night so he set her on top of the dresser and took a pic for me. I don't think she appreciated being woke up- do you?

The craft table is a very interesting place to take a nap, too. Moonlight likes to steal ribbons and run away with them as if she just made a "kill". Well, maybe she does have some personality...

Now on to other business... I thought I'd make up my own tag! Then I decided it would have a theme: Dieting.
Let's make this a chain tag and keep a sense of humor...

If you decide to do this tag, you have to make up one more highly interesting and entertaining question to add to it before passing it on. The only other rule for this tag is to copy it and post it on your blog (if you want to play) and then give an open invitation to others to play also. Okay, here we go!

1. Do you enjoy seeing all the shrinking and growing bellies in all the Winter Internet advertising? Oh, yes, they are very inspiring- especially when I'm trying to eat. ☺ The ones with stretch marks are really special.

2. Do you still try on clothes that are too small because you JUST CAN'T BELIEVE that you're really a size xyz? Yes! after being accused of being anorexic when I was in my twenties, I still can't comprehend that a medium and sometimes even a large WON'T fit.

3. Are you really trying to diet this Winter when we are all in dire need of comfort food? No way! I'm waiting until Spring when the clothes start coming off!

Okay! Anyone else? Let me know if you play!
