Birthday Girl Fun

Hello, sweet friends! Here's part of what I sent off to my grandgirl Elizabeth for her 5th birthday. I won the cupcake towel in a give away I joined with Noelle but it's been calling to Elizabeth ever since I got it! Her mom said that it can hang in her little play kitchen. Here's a sweet embroidered pillow for her doll and a now the bag is full of fun girly things like pom poms, buttons, candy hearts, ribbon and ???

I rolled these baby doll clothes up and put them in the purse.

For those of you who have daughters, this is probably no big deal, but for me... FUN!
Micah and I are hoping to have our friends over again today. It will be a beautiful day to run outside, hike and climb trees! (I'll skip the trees part!)
I didn't get to start on my wreath yesterday but I did make a big chicken and sausage gumbo for my Cajun man! It makes him so happy. ☺
Do you all like my new back ground? I think it's perfect for Girls At Heart. I saw it at Lori's first but then she quit using it so I asked if she minded if I used it. It does something for me... Not sure what.
I'm also not sure if I'll be posting tomorrow or not. It depends on what the guys do with their "week end".

Spring Centerpiece

Do you girls remember this big Springy bowl that I found at the Goodwill last Winter? Well, it finally was allowed to come up from the basement! And this is what I did with it!

It needs more eggs in the bottom but it will have to wait until my next trip to town!

Isn't this bunny so sweet all nestled down in the top? My original thought was to fill the bowl to the top with eggs but that's a lot of bag$ of candy egg$!

It was really fun to make! I love the "pearled" Easter grass. It's supposed to be the kind that isn't as messy. We'll see... ☺

I finally finished planting all my Pansies yesterday. Poor things! I waited too long but it's been so RAINY lately that I kept putting it off. I also got my Tupperware cabinet cleaned out! A once a year job that I always appreciate once it's DONE.
I also had a whole lot of fun on facebook yesterday. Fecebook has brought so many of my old friends/ new friends and family together in one place. I love it! I've moved so many times and had to say good bye so many times that it's nice to feel some connection.
In the crafting department, I'm soon to start on a custom (suggested by me -not ordered by her) rag wreath for my wonderful daughter in law Sara. I'm so happy that she likes something that I can make for her Birthday! She choose Pink, Cream and Sage as her colors and it will have some sort of jeweled embellishments. I can't wait to see how it turns out!

Well, I'll be off to the library today and to the post office today to mail my grandgirls Birthday present off. Come back tomorrow and I'll show you what I sent!

Bunny Sighting Saturday!

Hi, bunny lovin' girls! I just had to show you my sweet bunny cup and bowl today. I love little bunny families! ☺ These dishes are from a series but I can't remember the name. Yoohoo- AMY!? She probably knows because she has some, too. I snagged these from the GW- brand new- still in the box. That was back in the old days- before the prices went up and the pickin's got slim! I can't remember what the original price was but I know it was a lot more than what I paid. Look! It's bath time for bunnies!

Turns out that Micah and I didn't get to play with our friends yesterday but we still had a good day. I had LOTS of energy and got all kinds of things done! I washed up more linens and hung them on the line and then it rained so I had to dry them in here!! I made an adorable Easter centerpiece that I'll show you next week. I wrapped up presents for Elizabeth AND I started back to dieting again! I know I won't really start to lose inches again until we put the pool back up but I'm hoping to lose a pound or 2. I gained back a lot while Micah was so sick during the Winter. For the first time in my life, I discovered what comfort eating was all about! No more! I gained it- I can lose it!

Thanks for coming by on your busy Saturday! Please come back tomorrow for Scrapbook Sunday!

Aw....

Look, girls! My Pinkie cat is a new Mama! 5 baby kittens to melt our hearts and promote plenty of baby talk! ☺ Aw... So precious! And her's so proud!

Well, I had a great couple of days off! Movies, ice cream, dinning out, Goodwilling and Birthday and Easter shopping at Walmart. My grand girl Elizabeth is going to be 5 soon so I'll be getting a package off to her this week. I'll show you what I'm going to send once I get it all together.
I'm also putting together a "guys" Easter basket for Micah. Not nearly as much fun as putting together a girl one for my Noelle! It's only the second girl basket I've ever done! I can't wait until I can show you her surprises!

Micah and I are also having friends over after school today. Hopefully it won't rain!

Hope you all have a delightful day full of love and hope!

Spring Decorating!

Hi, girls! Come on in and see what I did! Remember this shelf from Christmas? It's in my dinning room and looks into my long, narrow computer room. I cleared away all the blue dishes and decorated it for Spring! Ta-da! Isn't it pretty? There's Pri's hanging that served as the inspiration for the whole. I was supposed to add the lights at Christmas time but... I didn't! Ha-ha! There in the middle is a pretty cylinder box that Karen gave me in our Valentine swap.

Finally! Johny Jump-Ups in vases again! See my Pinkie cat keeping my computer chair warm?? The small scarf underneath the flowers is the one Tina gave me and all the other linens are from my Christmas box from Juli. Hurray for girl friends!

I liked the lighting in this one.

Here's a close up of Pri's wall hanging- or in this case- shelf hanging!

I'm decorating other places in the dinning room too and I'll show you those when I'm done.
I won't be posting again until Friday but I'm sure I'll sneak over and visit you all because I miss you when you're not here!
Have a glorious day! ♥

Friendship Package From Tina

I've been so blessed in my friendship among the blog sisterhood! My giving and talented friend, Tina contributed to my recent spoiling (pampering? blessing?) by sending me a friendship package last week! Here it is all wrapped up! It was soft but I didn't have a clue what it could be!
Look at this wonderful sampler! Isn't it sweet? Tina said that it's frame retired and she knew it was time to send the sampler to a new home sweet home. I told Tina that it was timely because I was feeling just a bit home sick for my child hood home of Washington state. It was a good reminder of where home *really* is.

Tina also sent along a sweet "lady" tag she made, some vintage lady cards, some trims, and a small dresser scarf/doily! The polka dot trim inspired me along in a secret swap project I've been working on. (Hint-hint to Miss Noelle.) Thanks again, Tina for blessing me and inspiring me in my creating! ♥

If you stopped by yesterday and I didn't reply back to you, it's because I had a fun and busy day! I did some Spring decorating, planted some Pansies, crafted, did all my usual work of cooking, cleaning and homeschooling and then I also had a girlfriend over in the late after noon! We visited on the sunny porch a while and then we tried to play Badminton. It was too windy for Badminton so instead, we went on a little hike up to the Holly tree farm behind us. It was fun. This is a good of year to hike because the gnats aren't out yet.
I hope to finish Spring decorating today so I can show you pics of what I did! I also plan on planting more Pansies. They really want out of their little pots!
Have a great day, girlfriends! ♥

Bunny Sighting Saturday

Welcome to Bunny Sighting Saturday!

Silly bunnies! They were so excited about Spring beginning yesterday that they wanted to pose in this Forsythia that is starting to bloom! I added the doily so they could be stylin'! ☺

We have a week's worth of sunshine lined up here in Virginia! I'm so glad. There are so many things I want to do outside. But then again there are so many things I want to do inside, too! I never get bored!

I can't wait until I can show you all the things I've been crafting lately! I plan on spoiling Miss Noelle big time with our Easter swap!

Enjoy your Saturday girls! Hope you get to do something really fun!

Linens On The Line

Good morning, Girls! Remember this big box of linens from my friend Juli at Christmas? If not, see this post for the whole story!

I've used some of these linens but most of them have stayed stashed away so I'd forget what they all looked like and I could be surprised again! Hee-hee!

Now here are a select few linens freshly washed and on the line. They're just a sunnin' themselves and waiting to be pressed with the iron- hopefully today. Look how green the grass is getting!

Micah had a wonderful Birthday yesterday and he and Bobby are going fishing today! You know what that means don't you? I GET TO BE ALONE FOR THE FIRST TIME IN MONTHS!!!!! But I do look forward to the quiet company of all my blogging girls, so please don't stay away.

Love you all lots!

Pansies, Johny Jump- Ups And Marriage Advice

Good Monday, girlies!
I was so excited to see my favorite flowers arrive at Walmart the other day!

They are patiently waiting for me to plant them once the weather clears up.

Don't they look happy?
And do you see my green painters tape on the living room window? Don't ask. ☺
****************************************
And now, spring is coming and love is in the air! So here's a little marriage advice:
As a woman who has been married to the same man for almost 29 years, I feel like I have learned a thing or two but believe me- it's not perfection! The main advice that I like to pass on was also given in a woman's magazine recently and it is this:
You are going to have to choose to either ignore or have a sense of humor about your husband's faults. It's simple but OH so true. It won't change the fact that he will do absolutely ☺ idiotic things or occasionally break your heart no matter how hard you laugh but this little bit of advice will smooth out many a bump in the road!
This doesn't mean that there is *never* a time to seriously discuss a fault but I'm telling you, it better be a BIG one. Do YOU like to be corrected? I know, I don't! There's also a WAY to address a problem but maybe I'll save that one for another time...
Thanks for coming by sweeties and I hope you all have a wonderful day full of laughter and love!

Winter Is Not Forever!

I thought that the title of this book (that I just finished) had an appropriate title for this time of year. For any of your girls who are still seeing snow and feeling cold, (Like me!) HANG IN THERE! Winter is not forever!
I love this Joshua Jones series. I've read it about 4 times since the 80s. ☺

I read in my bed every night for 15 minutes to an hour. In days gone by, I would stay up till 3:00 AM reading and I'd have blood shot eyes and suffer horribly from depression! Duh! I'm wiser now but I still love my night time reading- in moderation. Recklessness is a lot more exciting than moderation but I sure feel a whole lot better when I'm being good to myself!

Good day, girlfriends!

Blogging Blessings

Remember this plate? See this post to read about its mystery. My sweet friend, Noelle found another one for me at her Goodwill and sent it along to me last week! It came in the mail the same day as my Tussie Mussie from Karen. My mail lady must have thought it was my birthday or something! But no, just loving blogging friends that make every day special! Thanks again, Noelle!
Have a wonderful day, girls! ♥

Ladies, were' here in Virginia bringing you the latest U.S. Green Report! Here with us now is green enthusiast, Holly from Girls at Heart!

Holly, can you tell us what we're seeing here?

Yes! Just yesterday, this Green was spotted right here in my own yard on my very own Spirea bush! I know it's just a matter of days now and the whole country side will burst forth with spring praise!

Thank you for your enthusiasm, Holly.

Well ladies, you heard it here first!

Until next time, this is Mopsy Cottontail reporting for the THINK SPRING network.

Cleanin' and Dreamin'

Hi there, neighbor girls!!! We really could sit on the porch this morning! Well, I'm busy Spring cleanin' and Spring dreamin'! Look at all this GREEN from last Summer! It almost seems fake. I predict we will start seeing some Green again by next week! It's supposed to be 75 today!

Ha-ha! Look at me with that fan in my hand. That's to keep the gnats off. The gnats are horrible here. They come with the green!
Have a great Saturday, girls! ♥

I'm A Flower Girl!

Happy Friday, girls! I hope it's warming up where you live. It sure is here!

Do you know, I didn't plant a single flower until I was 30 years old? Here's a scanned pic of me at that age playing with my favorite flower- the Pansy. This is my husband's favorite picture of me! He says it's because I look so happy. Each Fall, I pot up several of my flowering plants and bring them in for the Winter. I just can't bear to leave them out for the frost! This computer room is the sunniest room in the house so I put them in here. By the end of Winter I'm lucky if I have a few blooms left. Like these right here. Not much color but it's a little bit! Hang in there sweeties! You'll get to go back outside soon!

My flowers are my girls and Micah thinks it's so funny that I talk to them! I'm so glad I have you girls to talk to as well. One day Micah said to me concerning this blog, "So this is like your game, huh, mom." ☺

I'm getting my hair trimmed this morning and then Micah is having a friend over today for an all day play day! He's so excited and so am I because it will sort of be like a day off for me, too! I plan on CLEANING and possibly crafting, too!

Hope you all have a happy and productive day!

Bunny Love

Happy Winter, girls! Many of us across North America had snow yesterday. I went sledding! But yes, I'm still dreaming of Spring. One can't help it once March rolls around!

Do you see my bunny on my fence? He's quite weathered- just like the fence and the spent flowers in front. Bunny has a funky plastic eye that I'd like to replace, though. He was here when we moved in but what's really fun- is that I found a few of his relatives hanging around the place, too! They must have lost their eyes when they fell off the fence so they're waiting in my "to be painted" drawer and I want to re -attach them to the fence at random intervals. Sounds like a fun Spring project- doesn't it?

I won't be posting for the next 2 days. Not only is it hard to get on the computer when the guys are home but I'm also running out of things to post about! I'm sure once Spring returns, my energy level will too- and my creativity level!

Thanks for coming over!
