Boring Before and Eeekily Ever After!

Boring before and now Eeekily ever after! ☺

Eeek!

This is what I did over my "sicky" week end. I need to get a special varnish that will diminish the decal lines but I just couldn't wait to show you! ☺

Vintage Embroidered Table Cloth

Happy Monday, girls! I slept in! Here's another one of my vintage linens that came in my giant Christmas box! Ooops! It's a bit crooked! ☺I'm referring to this as "silk embroidered" but I don't know if that is actual truth in publishing... I don't know my fabrics very well but I know this isn't your regular cotton kitchen linen. The yellowish background is a very thin, light, gauzy... something I can't identify. Any guesses? The whole cloth itself it quite heavy though, due to the thickness of the embroidery.

There are LOTS of little holes in the cloth and the fringe has seen better days but I still see her beauty.

The colors are so sweet and my peonies went well here.

This one above is enhanced to show the detail.
*********************
I stayed at home this week end since Micah and I were still recovering from the Summer cold/flu WHATEVER (!) it was. I did manage to fit in a little painting project that I'll show you later in the week and I made another gift tag. Those are really fun! I continue to organize my photos and scrapping supplies, too. I have to figure out what all I have first- then I can scrap.
This will be a short 3 day work week for us and then we'll have a 5 day vacation! Yay! The 4th and our 29th anniversary will be in there somewhere.
Hope you all have a great day! Thanks for coming by! ♥

Favorites On Friday- Give Away Wins!

One of my favorite things are give aways! I've been keeping my eyes open for a vintage apron for a long time now but I've never found any that were affordable enough or to my tastes. But then I visited Linda's Shabby Rose Cottage , saw this apron and entered Linda's give away! I can't believe I won! Thanks again, Linda! That's 2 give aways in one month that I have one! (These are Linda's pictures.)

Look at the Blue Gingham and flowers!

It's made out of organza! A perfect combo for me! Half fancy and half country! That's me!
See you for Scrapbook Sunday! ♥

Here's the Cowgirl!

Here's a pic for you girls who wanted to see the cowgirl hat on my head! Ha-ha! Can you tell I'm laughing? Bobby makes me laugh when he takes my pic! Bobby took a few shots and I thought it was funny how he caught my nose so well in this one! Ha-ha!

Okay- here's a funny hat story that I already briefly told Noelle:

I wore this outfit to the city last weekend. Bobby kept telling me, "Thanks for wearing the hat, you're so cute, etc, etc." and I was feeling so VERY FINE! ☺ We went out to eat... and to the Flea Market... and our last stop was at Lowes. It was really windy that day so I stepped out of the van and was about to put my hand on my hat but I wasn't quick enough! Off FLEW my hat and it went tumbling across the parking lot at an alarming rate! "Eeeeek!"

Off I RAN, Eeeeking and blushing and feeling like an absolute idiot!!! And wouldn't you know it, my hat was tumbling and flying strait toward the feet of a MAN who kindly caught it for me! "Hee-hee! Thank you! Hee-hee! Blush, blush!" (Where's a hole to crawl in?)

These type of things could only happen to me! I'm like a magnet for them! Isn't it enough that I'm already SO TALL and attract enough attention with that? But do I have to add a hat to it, run and then screech about it?! ☺ Evidently so!

I felt so flustered after all that happened that I didn't want to wear the hat anymore but Bobby insisted that I looked REALLY CUTE running after it and he wanted me to keep wearing it! Ha-ha! Do you think my hand left my head after that? NO!! and was I sure that everyone in the parking lot and in the store was staring, pointing and laughing at me? YES! Boy was I glad to get home and jump in the pool! ☺

THE END
******************
Girls, I've come down with some sort of Summer cold or something so if you see a typo or I say something today that doesn't make any sense, you'll know why! My brain is NOT moving out of first gear. Blaaaaaah..... I know enough to be thankful for my blogging girls, though! Love you all lots! ♥

Recent GW Thrill!

Can you tell what this is, girls? Yup! It's a peep! From a strand of peep lights! I about squealed when I found these!

It was really hard to get a good pic but they are all glittery looking just like real peeps. Fun huh? Can't wait to use them next year!

I know I don't usually show you my seasonal stuff but I just couldn't resist these and I didn't think you would be able to either! ☺

******************

I've been swimming a lot in the afternoons! It makes the evenings draaaag by because I feel like a half cooked noodle afterward but like I sang for Bobby,

"I'd rather be a noodle than a dumpling" ☺

And for me, I'm like a spaghetti noodle with a dumpling in the middle! Ha! Pretty silly looking! Well, that dumpling is shrinking whether it likes it or not!!!!

Come back tomorrow if you want to see me in my cowgirl hat! Yeehaw!

Mother's Day Money Gone!

Here's the last of my big spending! Vintage style decals and a paper heart punch! See the middle decals- the lambs? I saw one of those on a vintage potty chair at the antique mall. I practically squealed as I showed Micah! I wish you could of seen the sweet but amused look he gave me! My guys are so... tolerable of me! ☺

I bought my decals from The Decal Cottage. Amy sent me these little rose decals as a bonus! I love roses too so I was happy! I'll play with the roses first to get the hang of working with the nursery decals and I'll show you what I end up making with them!
I woke up to no water this morning but my awesome man got the pump working again! I tell you, that man can do just about anything! Way back when I first met Bobby, he fixed the brakes on my brother's car. I remember how impressed I was that he knew how to do that but yet, he wasn't even a mechanic! ☺ I thank God for my good ole country boy! ♥ Our 29th anniversary is coming up! Can you believe it???
Thanks for coming over! You're all the best "neighbors" in the world! ♥

Papers And Presents From Lindsey And Twyla

Happy Monday, girls! Are you awake? ☺ Bobby is off again today (LOVE these 3 day week ends!!) but they are supposed to go fishing at some point so I decided to post anyway!

My friend Lindsey works at a scrapbook store so when I couldn't find any Gingham papers in my area, I asked if her store had any.
Wouldn't you know it, her store had a garage sale and she picked me up a whole pack of gingham papers in different colors! She sent them off to me as a friendship gift and she and Twyla tucked in some other little surprises for me, too! ~ Holly claps her hands ~ Thanks again, girls! Your friendship (and that of other bloggers, too) has filled a real mother, daughter, sister void in my life! ♥ ♥ ♥

Lindsey still has her blog with her mom, Twyla but she also has started another blog- Lindsey's Paper Scraps ! Check it out if you haven't already!

I started moving all my scrapping supplies into the living room last night and started organizing, too. It's going to be so nice to have a scrap booking station again! So now, all my other crafting supplies are in the craft room but the scrap stuff will be in the living room. Next thing ya know I'll be setting up specific tables in every room!

Okay paper crafters, WHAT do you do with all your tiny scraps? How do you organize them or ~ gasp ~ do you just throw them away? Those tiny scraps come in so handy but finding them is another story!

Thanks for coming by and seeing my presents! Have a great day girls!

Garage Sale Fun!

Yeehaw, girls! Check out this cow girl hat I found while garage sailing with my honey last week end! Bobby loves for me to wear hats so I quick bought it before he could see it and was wearing it when he came to the van! I wore it for the rest of the day! See the little flower on the side?
This is just one pair of super cute dangly earrings that I got at the same sale for 10 cents a piece! (Is that tacky for me to give the price? I don't care!) ☺

Who can pass up wicker? Not me! 75 cents! ☺ I've changed my mind several times about *what* I'll do with it!

My new cutie pie laundry basket for *my* powder room.

I snatched this shelf up for 25 cents at a sale that had ridiculously high prices on *everything* else! I was embarrassed for them!

I saved the boring craft supplies for last. ☺ Here's a bag of thin wood cut outs: Apples, pumpkins, angels, and a bunch of tiny gingerbread to paint! The Styrofoam balls are for... sticking in my craft drawer until they have a purpose! ☺ What craft drawer would feel complete with out Stryrofoam balls? Right?! ☺

I don't know if we're going sailing tomorrow or not but I hope so! It's a fun family outing.
************************
We finished our living room wall last night! Now I'm just trying to get good pics so I can show you- hopefully tomorrow!
I hope you all live abundantly today!

Sneak Peeks

Hey, girls! My living room wall re-do is almost done! Here's some sneak peeks!

I think I'm going to make my Father's Day deadline but I need Bobby's help to finish up! Stay tuned!
Come back tomorrow to see my week end garage sale finds! ♥

A New Member Of The Family

Please welcome happy apple to Girls At Heart! ☺ I picked him up at the antique mall in WV over the week end. I'd seen him there before but I didn't have enough money for the adoption but wouldn't you know it, he was on sale this time! $5.00 and he's mine! I had started collecting these musical happy apples in the early 90s when I still found them at the thrift stores but I chose to give them away when we moved to Michigan. He fits perfectly here on top of my wood cook stove doesn't he?

I also picked up this sweet little plate that was on sale! Gotta love those antique booth sales!

Even though I only bought 2 little things, it was still fun to look and be able to buy something!
Tomorrow, you'll get a sneak peek of my living room wall re-do!

Thrifty Thursday!

Well, girls, the shelves are stocked at the Goodwill again and the prices have gone back down! So here are my Goodwill scores from this week! Here's a cutie pie pillow. (Cutie pie is my new favorite word.) This will soon go in my soon to be newly re-done living room. ☺ Soon. ☺ And now we have a red wire piggy for the kitchen. Since we were once were piggy farmers, I like to pick up cute piggys from time to time.

And how about a small, light weight shadow box for a future project? I'm always on the look out for shadow boxes.

I'm always picking up seasonal items at the GW and garage sales too but I will wait till the appropriate season to show those to you. I have a "seasonal" box under my craft table for stashing the things I get throughout the year and it's almost full!

Hope you all have a super -duper day! ♥

Linen and petals

You girls know I love my pastels but sometimes I really like a burst of bright color, too! Here's a sweet vintage flower basket linen that sits under my wash bowl. The wash bowl is filled with left over rose petals from my Mother's Day roses from Bobby

and Irises from my garden.

I thought it looked cool.

I had a fun 3 day week end! Swimming in our pool, crafting, painting, movies, romancing, planting flowers and treasure hunting! Yippee! I feel refreshed!
Happy Tuesday!

Favorites On Friday

Here's my favorite cup! This lovely cup was given to me as a going away present when I left Michigan and moved to South Dakota. It was my coffee cup for years until it chipped. Boo-hoo!
See you for Scrapbook Sunday!

Spending Mother's Day Money

I went to a funky store here in our area called Magic Mart. Their regular prices are pretty high but every once in a while they will have good sales. I wanted a new powder room towel for our guitar party so I picked this sweet one up for $2.00! Wouldn't you know it- not one of the women visited the powder room! Oh, well, maybe it impressed the guys. Do ya think? Ha! I also bought a bedspread/Summer quilt with 2 shams and a throw pillow for $33.00! It has embroidered Pansies, Irises and other flowers as well. It might be hard to tell in these pics but there is rick rack on it, too!

Here's a close up of the Pansies

This is NOT my bed- this is just from the package the spread came in.
The package picture shows the spread going (what looks to me like) sideways. I turned mine the other way and it works just fine.

I also spent around $7.00 on craft supplies but they are for secret projects so mums the word!
I still have money left so stay tuned! ♥

Garage Sale Finds

The weather was perfect for garage sailing on Saturday. We hardly had time to go but we did fit in 4 sales right here in town. We were happy that we all found something fun! Check out this little "head board" mirror. It was the priciest purchase of the day at $2.00. Isn't it cute? I want to paint it- someday. This must be strawberry season! Here's a cute strawberry napkin holder for 50 cents. It fits well on my cook stove shelf.

I used it for our guitar party on Sunday.

This was my favorite 25 cent find of the day- a small vintage bowl! The flowers in the middle are very faded. These little strawberry plates were just 25 cents for all 3!

I hope we can go next week too if the weather is nice again!
Thanks for looking at my treasures! My guys just don't "get it"!
