Before And After

Before:
Dogs chair on deck. Yeah, I know... I purposely left those broken pieces and the dog hair for effect. After:
Girl chair on deck (for when girl company comes over!) Yes, I could have painted it or recovered it? Ha-ha! But after all- it *is* the dog's chair and she will get it back once the girl leaves!
So much (not anything) is possible with pretty sheets and cutie pie pillows

I'm Back and I Won!

I'm BACK!!!! I missed you all so much but while I was away, I won the Cath Kidston give away from Cindy of My Romantic Home! Yeehaw! Thanks again, Cindy! It was a special treat for me to help ease the pain of having no computer but it was also a good reminder of why I wanted my computer back!!! Ha-ha! I recently ordered a Cath Kidston catalog and I love looking through it and DREAMING of owning something from it!

Well, I have lots of computer fun to catch up on! Talk to you later! ♥

Mini Nursery Decal Banner

I had fun making this little sugar. I kept it simple. Um... ignore my van-K? ☺
This is hanging on my computer room door with a window. I have 2 front doors and this is the one that I use most often so the banner is there to greet me and to just be cute. Gotta have some cuteness in my day ya know!
I really like making banners; no rules- each one different. I'm not sure what's next on the crafting front... Probably something for Twyla and Lindsey's OZ party!

Sorry I'm late today! computer is DOWN! I'm at the library now and don't know when I'll post again! Say a little prayer for me. ♥

Recent Finds

It's a new week, girls! Are you ready?! ~ Yawn ~ ☺
There hasn't been much treasure hunting in my life lately so I'm showing you these treats from a few weeks back. I found this great picture and frame at the GW in the city the last time we were able to go. Although this is nice as it is- it really isn't my style so it will be for a re-do. There is a crack in the frame that I think I can cover up when I paint it.
This is a French china plate that I got at the new shop I discovered near me- Trinkets And Treasures. It has such a nice scalloped edge and it came with this great old (?) hanger. I tried to straighten the plate but the fit was so tight that I was afraid of chipping those nice scallops! Hardly anything had prices in the shop but I was brave enough to ask how much this was and it was only $1.00! ☺ When my pocket book is off its diet- I'm going back to that shop because she has a LOT of cute stuff!

We had a nice cool/dry front come through over the week end. I used the opportunity to clean out my "little" basement. I've really been missing my boys lately and intensive labor is good and satisfying work when you have a lot of emotion going on.

I spent a large part of my Sunday working on my computer... Bobby attempted to download IE8 and now everything is haywire. We can't even access IE at all now so all my favorites are inaccessible and now this morning I can't even get to my e mail using FireFox. Our live Dell help has expired so I'm playing detective. It sure is exhausting work! I'd much rather clean my basement! Well, if I suddenly disappear, you'll know it's due to computer problems. Let's hope that won't happen, though.

I hope to show you my mini nursery banner tomorrow! ♥

From The Decorating File

Hello, girls! It's been a while since I drug out the decorating file so I thought I'd show a few pages and talk about them.

This quilt was one that I really wanted from JC Penneys but by the time I had the money for it, they quit carrying it! I love the sweet pastel colors. I also love all the white in the picture bellow the quilt. It really appeals to the fancy girl in me but with my country living boys- I can only enjoy this sort of thing on paper! We once built an attic bedroom so attic ideas always grab my attention. My current house has attic room potential (my studio?) so my wheels are always turning. I like how they built shelves into the eves space bellow. We just made our eves space into little storage rooms for the boys with a little door on each side but shelves would have been better. We were remodeling on a budget though. Nice thing about mental remodeling and decorating is that there is NO budget! ☺

The country girl in me loves this room bellow! It's a bedroom for the grand kids when they go visit. I've never painted a ceiling a darker color like that- have you?

It's lightning outside! better shut down! BYE!

Simply Shabby Chic Bookcase Fun!

Hey there, girlfriends! Happy Monday! For those of you who are new to my blog, this is my favorite thrift store find last year! I paid $30.00 for this SSC bookcase at my own little local Goodwill! It was still in the box and everything but it did have some slight damage on top. No worries to me! I still love it as it brightens up my dark little house. I don't have a hutch so this baby does double duty.I had cleaned house all week long last week, so re- decorating the hutch was my little reward.
The shelves are movable so I decided to put my Eeekily ever after chair on here!

See the Aqua inside cup? I got that at the GW in the city a couple weeks ago! It seems pretty old. See my cuppie cake that Twyla made me? So sweet!
Since this is meant to be a book shelf, there's no plate groove for my plates. But I just put a blob of sticky tack on the bottom of my plates and it works pretty well. I have to put something in front of the plate to hide the blue blob though!

This is a good shot of the bottom drawer with it's cute glass knob! I'm still working with that poor bottom shelf... I have the hutch sitting on a board to make it stable. My wonderful safety first man insisted. ☺
I know my hutch is a bit sparse compared to others but I like the wide open feel of it AND I don't have a lot of "things" to put on it anyway!

Thanks for coming by and I hope you all have a great week! ♥

Favorites On Friday

Come on in, girls! It's been a while since I've posted one of my favorite things! This is a pretty card that hangs on my GREEN powder room wall. ☺ My pen friend Katie gave it to me long ago and I've used it as a decoration for years. I don't know if you can tell but the flowers and the scrolls are raised. So pretty!

I cleaned up a storm yesterday and then rewarded myself with some decorating! I re-did my Simply Shabby Chic book case that I got at the GW for $30.00. I hope to be back on Monday to show you some pics. It's hard to get good ones because the shelves are so deep that it causes lots of shadows.

Scrapbook Sunday

I'll be taking some time off from Scrapbook Sunday. It worked better when Bobby was working week ends. So when he's back on his other schedule, (end of Aug.) I'll be back to posting on the week ends. Hopefully I'll have some newly finished scrap book pages to show you by then!
************
Micah and I were supposed to have some friends over for a pool party today but it looks like we might be rained out! We sure have had a rainy Summer so far!

I hope you all have a terrific week end and I hope to see you again on Monday! ♥

Nursery Tags

Hello sunshines! ☺ I've been having so much fun with my nursery decals! I know they aren't meant to be applied on paper but I'm always one ready to break the rules! These 2 were sent off to Lindsey and Twyla who recently gifted me with some tag, paper and scrapbook supplies.

I just love those mini white pom poms but now they're all gone!
******************
I'm working on a mini pendant banner now. I'll show you when I'm done.
******************
I've been doing a lot of house cleaning this week. After our 5 day vacation, things were looking pre-tty scruffy! I do so love a CLEAN house! Today, I plan to plant some more flowers and go around the outside of the house sweeping down spider nurseries! I can't believe how many there are! Yuk!
******************
If you've never left a comment before- please do! Or you can e mail me! I love making new friends.
Thanks for coming over! You're the best girls in the world! ♥

Aqua Love

A recent trip to my little local Goodwill produced these fun finds! I love Peter Rabbit! This little 45 cent melamine (?) sugar bowl (?) looks vintage

and looks perfect with this sweet decal. You think?

Can you tell I'm having fun with my decals? ☺
*****************************
Guess what happened to me yesterday? I was stung by a wasp! Boo-hoo! It was right in the middle of my back where I couldn't reach it! This was bad news for me because I am allergic to wasps! I was so scared that I almost cried. Micah kindly doctored me up with Tea Tree oil and Charcoal. Girls, those two ingrediants together are awesome! The sting site was swelling and stinging pretty bad through out the day but by bedtime it was all better! I was so thankful! When I woke in the night once I was like, "Thank you, Lord! Thank you, Lord!" because I couldn't feel a thing anymore!
**********
I didn't know I was allergic to wasps until I was first stung in my 4oth year. I went 3 nights without sleep because my hand was so swollen, painful and itching. After THAT episode, I did my research! Now I never leave home without a charcoal capsule in my purse. It's messy but it works!
**********
Hopefully this will be a less eventful day! ☺

Thanks for coming by, girls! Every day- you make my day! ♥

My First Gift Tag And Another Project

Look girls! I made my first gift tag with one of my rose decals! You like? I sent it off to Priscila because she was my first artist friend and she has encouraged me as an artist so much! I loved making this sweet tag. I always knew I'd like making them. I was just waiting for the right time! I don't think I would like making several tags that were just alike though! I don't think it would be as fun because I always like doing something new.

I put the other rose decals on this little jelly jar. You should have seen me tearing around the house trying to find something to put them on! ☺

They are kind of hard to see on clear glass so I put the lace in and decided to leave it!

I won't be able to be on the computer much today but maybe tonight!
Hope you all have a great day! ♥
