An Eye Candy Christmas!!

*Long post alert!*

Here I am smiling on Christmas morn because my heart was full of love for my family and all my bloggy friends! (I was really tempted to photo shop out those grey roots, though!)
Are you ready for some bloggy love eye candy? I am so spoiled! (Please forgive my lack of linking!)

Noelle from Lil Bits And Pieces Of Me sent me some cutie pie handmade stocking stuffers! The lovely ribbon stocking came from the GW! Can you believe it?!

I had my guys unwrap her box and stuff my stocking for me on Christmas eve! It was so fun! See the flower ball? I love it- so cute! Thanks again, Noelle!

Tina from Mommy Scraps A Lot and Embellishments sent me some sweet home made goodies, too and some birthday stickers! See how she has that scalloped paper on top of the mini calendar? I want to by one of those punches with my Christmas money! Thanks again, Tina!

Queenie from Queenie's Vintage Finds And Treasures sent me three tiny hand made stockings like these below for my girly tree! In graduated sizes, she labeled them Mama, Papa and baby bear. ☺ She also sent me a pretty tag that didn't want to be photographed! Naughty tag! Thanks again, Queenie!

Julie Ann from Kitchen Floor Creations sent me these Aqua crystals since my Walmart was out of them! So thoughtful! And look at the tiny tag. I'm going to use it as a template for more. Thanks again, Julie Ann!

Jackie from Once Upon A Fairyland sent me such a fun envelope! (This is the only pic I have of me with one of my blog friend's presents. None of the others turned out well enough.) Yay! I now have my own honeycomb snowman!

And who else but a bloggy friend would know that I was once a Patches Pal? ☺ Here's a close up of all the goodies she sent! Look at those sweet little flowers! Thanks again, Jackie!
The rest of these goodies were sent around Christmas time but not specifically designated as Christmas gifts:
Here's a box that came early in the month from Sandi of Wayside Treasures. Oh my, what's inside??
Pretty petite pillows with roses and chenille, flowers, lace, trims, linens and china, decals galore...

and who else but a bloggy friend would understand the love of a vintage BABY TOY? ☺ Thanks again, Sandi! (I packed this box right back up so I could open it again on Christmas! Hee-hee!)

Twyla from Two Crazy Crafters sent me a box and told me to open it *before* Christmas. I think she knows me. ☺ Aren't these bottle brush trees gorgeous!? They fit perfectly in my Shabby Chic book case! Thanks again Twyla!

I begged for some of these cards from my favorite photographer, M of Tales From An OC Cottage. She sent them and said they were a Birthday/ Thanksgiving/Christmas/ Whatever present so I decided CHRISTMAS! ☺
It's like having her blog on my craft table. Thanks again, M!

Do you wonder why I put all these s? It's a bumper so I don't accidentally delete a photo and I use them as subject dividers. Plus, it's no secret that I lOVE love!
Bobby and Micah gave me presents, too:

*All the Twilight books

*Twilight the movie
*A bath set and gourmet food gift set

*A whole box full of candy bars ~ BLUSH ~
*And Bobby secretly developed about 10 rolls of old film from up to 5 years ago!
What a surprise that was! It was his most creative gift ever! Bobby also gave me some Christmas money for me to scheme over for a while! It was a wonderful Christmas! We even had snow and the only thing that could have made it better would have been to see the rest of my boys and girls!
Thanks for celebrating with me and most of all thanks for loving me as you do!

Caleb's Twilight Wreath

My 23 year old Caleb saw my wreaths on facebook and said he wanted me to make him a Goth one. I was honored! And challenged! When he told me the colors he wanted- Red, Black and Silver, I thought to myself, A Twilight wreath! He also wanted some sort of Silver/Gothic looking Jewelry attached to it... Gulp! Could this sugary sweet pastel girl pull that off? Well, I am a Twilight fan so there must be some Goth style in me, eh?
I used Red and Black lace, Red and Black eyelet and Silver ribbons. I was happy with how it turned out... Once he got it, Caleb rearranged the jewelry on it differently than I had it and he hung in on his Red and Black bedroom wall between his Twilight posters. Caleb and I are Twilight fans together.
I'm putting together a "What I got for Christmas" post and it might be ready by tomorrow if you can come back by. I love for you to come over!

Kitten Card

Howdy, girls! Did everyone survive the big day? I can't wait to show you everything I got for Christmas but in the nice time, here's the only card I made from scratch this Christmas. Are you tired of this kitty yet? Here's the inside of the card which shows who the card was for. The question is this: Can Holly make a card which does not include a doily??? I think card making is just too frustrating for me but I just HAVE to give everything a little try!
I also gave my library ladies a plate of assorted Christmas cookies and it's the only plate I gave out this year. That's my speed- slow and steady.

Come back tomorrow and I'll show you the Twilight wreath I made for my boy Caleb!

Look at my wrist! Hee-hee! (That's my brother in the pic with me.)
Hope you all have a wonderful day!

Artists Among The Branches

Remember my White tree? (It has presents under it now!)Well, my White tree holds art work from blogging artists! Sweet Lorena from Rose Chic Friends sent me 2 glittery cupcakes- just because! They are reversible and look so yummy on my tree! Thanks again, Lorena!
And here's one of Sweetina's cute stockings from last year made with vintage wall paper!
Do you see Celestina Marie's cupcake peeking from the background? I love all my blogging artist girls! There's actually even more artists among my branches but I've yet to get decent pics! Groan! We've all heard of bad hair days but I've been having bad camera days! Too many of them!
I only have 3 more presents to wrap! Looks like a restful day ahead!

Just One More Image To Share!

Is anybody there???? I know many of you are taking off for the holidays so thanks to all who come by to see me! Isn't this card dreamy? The Red is SO Red in person! Parts of the card are raised giving it such a luscious 3 D quality about it! The talented Elizabeth from Creative Breathing sent me this vintage card along with my tag from our swap! Thanks again, E! Since Elizabeth shared with me, I want to share with you! Feel free to copy this card and use it to your hearts content! Be sure to look for the other card images I shared in past posts, too!

Easy Peasy Banner!

Happy Monday from a Virginia Winter wonderland! We had a foot of snow over the week end! Oh my, Micah and I sure had fun in the snow! And speaking of snow... See my snowman banner? I just took all my snowmen cards that I've saved and clipped them onto this snowflake garland with these snowman clips!
I knotted the ends and stuck ornament hangers through them and then hung it up on my computer room valance. Easy peasy!
I wanted it to hang uneven like icicles and it turned out just the way I wanted it too! NOT ALL projects end up so!
My kitty was distracting me by wanting to go in and out! Silly kitty!
I was given another vintage card this Christmas so come back tomorrow and I'll share it with you!

When Wishes Come True

I saw this add in Martha's magazine and I thought, Aw, I wish I had an ornament kit like that.
Then I unpacked my Christmas boxes and found this! A gift from my friend Becca last year at Christmas! I had forgotten all about it! I know it's not exactly the same but it's close enough for me! Christmas wishes do come true! Now, will I actually do up this kit for this year?
Lesson learned: Do not put Christmas craft supplies in the basement! Keep them in the craft room year round. Also- tea stained gift tags will MOLD in the basement.
Hope you all have a delightful day full of surprises!

Happy Birthday Dear Holly!

Happy Birthday to me!
Hee-hee! I know. My birthday was way back in October but My son Christopher just gave me some birthday money! I had been eyeing these slipper uggs at Walmart and I snagged up the LAST pair! I also bought myself a new sleeping pillow and now I'm ready for hibernating!

I'm having girl company today so I've been motivated to clean, decorate more and bake! Happy holidays, bloggy girls! ♥

Almost Homemade

I found these cutie pie dot cards in the dollar bin at Michael's. They were cute "as is" but I thought I'd embellish them up a bit. This one in the middle went out to Elizabeth with my tag. I'd like to do more but as my "would like to do more" list grows, I'm not so sure! But it's all good!

I seldom send out Christmas cards. I do enjoy receiving them but I have a firm "no stress if I can help it" policy. I'm more of a year round card giver/gift giver/ decorator/ baker! It makes me sad when I hear people complaining in the store about who all they "have" to buy for. What fun is that? I like giving to be fun and from the heart!

Enjoy all the Christmassy blogs today!

Dollar Christmas Ornament Section At Walmart

Have you seen the Dollar Christmas section at Walmart? I buy a new ornament every time I go in- sort of a little reward for doing the grocery shopping. I like these clear "crystals" but I want some of the Aqua ones for my White tree. (PS they are all gone now and everything else is going fast!)

This red one bellow is Micah's favorite. He's sending another one just like it to his big brother Caleb for Caleb's first tree.
I bought 2 of the silver ones- one for me and one for my friend Amy when we went to see New Moon.
Micah actually thinks we have too many ornaments this year! I guess it's time to pass some on to my kids! Maybe next year if we're all together...
I'm making Caleb a Red, Black and Silver (TWILIGHT!) wreath for Christmas and it's turning out pretty nice. I'm still trying to get good shots of it so I can show you.
Remember girls, you don't have to do it all! And how much you *do* accomplish is not a reflection of you- just your energy.
You are loved!

I'm off to do some Christmas and grocery shopping this morning!

My Tag For Elizabeth's Swap

Well girlies, I don't know if this could really be a tag for Elizabeth since it's so bulky so let's just say that it's altered art? Whatever it might be, I think it's cute!I really wanted to use that string of lights. They are so "Snoopy's dog house decorated for Christmas" looking. ☺ I wanted my kitty to be bigger but I've yet to learn how to make my printer obey me! Veeeeeeery frustrating!

I couldn't seem to stick with only lots of paper and one or two little doo dads!
(Doo-dad! What a funny "word"!)

Can you tell I flocked the Red on the kitty? I treated myself to some Martha Stewart's flocking powder. Fun! It's a bit tricky to make it turn out smooth and even but I consoled myself with the fact that the flocking on the original card is a bit uneven from age anyway!
A little sharing from the ♥:
Most of my long time readers know that my husband has been off of work with a shoulder injury for almost 6 months. Other than the injury, we've enjoyed our little vacation/glimpse of retirement but I find myself feeling panicked about "going back to work". House work, cooking and home schooling have been at a minimum while crafting, playing, visiting, computering and movie watching has been at a maximum. My wonderful husband reminds me that we still have till January and my wonderful Lord reminds me why it's good to take one day at a time!
I think Bobby and I needed this rest to prepare us for making our house ready to sell, doing the actually selling (Hurry, hurry! Someone is coming to look at the house!) and then packing us all up and moving cross country one more time and then finding another house and job in Idaho. (Hopefully for the LAST time???)
I know the Lord will have me ready to meet this challenge of another big move but like a woman facing the excitement of child birth- I'm scared! I just have to stay focused on the reward of the baby. Or in this case- my 3 grown boys, my boy still at home and my 3 grand babies that await me in Idaho. I gotta keep my eye on the prize! I also need to look to the Lord for the bravery that used to be so easy to come by. I used to be so fearless and I want to be again. But maybe I'll continue to be weak and needy and just watch the Lord be the strong one- totally separate from me. We'll see. ♥

I Finally Went to Target's Dollar Section

Nothing slow about me! When Amy and I went to see New Moon, we also went to Target! What fun! Shopping with a girl friend? It's been yeeeears!

These baby mittens will make cute ornaments! Do you think I'll actually do it? I never get done but that's what next year is for-right? ☺

I've had fun with these fabric ribbons and they're a whole 18 inches long! Ha-ha-ha-ha! Oh well.
Well, girls, we're getting a new furnace today! Not only is the old one a waste of space but it's probably been making us all sick- especially Micah!
Hopefully the furnace guy won't be here all day. I don't like having strange men in my house. I always try to be kind though because all the years that my husband was a window installer, he sure appreciated being treated with respect!
Merry Christmas, girls! (I just love saying that!)

Christmas Lamb To Share

Sweetly flocked and from the 50s- my favorite card era!
We went and got our real tree last evening and 11 year old Micah and I decorated it last night. It sure is big compared to my little White tree! We sang jingle bells together as we decorated and we realized that we sounded JUST the same! Weird! I reassured him that it wouldn't last. We were really tired when we were all done! (Does anyone else despise untangling lights?!)

I think today will be a movie day. One thing I love about my job is that I can rest when I want too! Whew!

Over the fields we go
Laughing all the way!
Ha-ha-ha!

My Recent Give Away Wins!

Holly jolly! I feel like the Christmas Queen! 2 give away wins in one month! (Please note that I *do* enter A LOT of give aways!) This one was from Melissa at Piney Rose. Thank you, Melissa!! And this one is from Donna at An Enchanted Cottage! Thank you, Donna!!

The nativity set is from a kit that you can paint but I want to leave it White and sugar snow it!
When I was little, my mom had a whole full size Putz house village *but it was stolen out of our storage building along with all our other Christmas decorations!* That's the year we began stringing popcorn and making all our own ornaments out of wood and baker's clay. Thus began my journey in crafting!
Our stolen Christmas decor included lots of gorgeous shiny brights with cut outs in them and lots of other glam type of city decor. I guess that's why I have a soft spot for both types of Christmas decorating. I had hoped to buy some shiny brites this year but in light of our moving cross country, I decided to wait till we get to Idaho.
Many of you asked about my reference to moving to Idaho:

All our grown children and grandchildren live in Moscow, ID. and we hope to move out there too if we can sell our house this Spring. I can't tell you how much I want to settle down but I want my family more! I'm not looking at housing market statistics. I'm just gonna look to the Lord! He knows what our family needs. ☺ My eldest granddaughter called me yesterday morning and talked of crafting with me some day if we can move out there. I want that! It hardly even seems real that I'm a grandma when I only see them once a year or so! I also really miss my big boys and I better stop talking about it before I cry!!!
I have more card images to share and other fun posts lined up for the days to come!
Merry Christmas!

My White Tree

Also known as my $6.00 Good Will tree! (Cupcake by Celestina Marie!) Doesn't it look sweet in my dinning room?! (I think Pinkie is jealous of my reindeer!)

I'm not done decorating it yet because I'm still buying ornaments for it and making some ornaments, plus making my Pink ribbon chain bigger but I couldn't wait to show you! It actually looked pretty with just the lights and no ornaments!

Hopefully there will be lots of vintage shiny brites on it next year! After we move to Idaho, I plan on going on a hunt because there are lots of antique shops there.

I can't seem to get very many good close ups of the ornaments but I'll keep trying!
Have a holly jolly week, girlfriends!
