Eeekedy-Eeek-Eeek! Meyercord Nursery Decals!!

Did you know that Eeek has 3 'E's? ☺ My dream of finding Vintage Meyercord nursery decals in person has come true! They were right here in Moscow, just waiting for me at my antique mall! This one below is my fav. It's the one I copied from eBay and put in my side bar! FAINT! I sat on the floor and went through STACKS of assorted decals and the nursery ones were hiding! I picked out my favs as I made all sorts of "I can't believe it and I'm so excited!" noises! ☺

I own some adorable repro Meyercord decals that I've had fun crafting with but these are originals! Some of them are even flocked!

And they were much cheaper than the ones I've seen on eBay plus there was *NO* postage! Yay!

Just had to grab this kitchen one, too! Hmmm... might have to change the color scheme of my kitchen! ☺
What will I do with these? Well, I won't try and use them as is . The store lady "warned" me that they wouldn't work and I already assumed that. I told her I just wanted the images. So, I will probably scan them and make my own decals once I learn how! I'll also craft with them as paper images. A special thanks to Heidi Ann of Gold Country Girls for being the one to originally reintroduced me to these old decals! ☺

Good Morning Holly Sweetie...
Look at the prices on these packages. Can you imagine? I remember using them 34 years ago on my sons white crib. I so wanted it to be nursey. We used to put them on everything, but to have the originals and then be able to scan them. Make your own decals? How fabulous is that? Who would have believed that possible years back?

GREAT find sweet friend. I could hear you squealing clear out here in Phoenix. Love it.

Have a beautiful day sweet friend. How is the job hunting going for Bobby? I am praying sweet friend.

Country hugs and much love, Sherry

Holly, I am beyond excited about these decals! You must ask Sandy of 521 Lake Street how she makes the decals. I know that getting a background is the tricky part. Oh my goodness, you could put them on jars for sale like she does! I wanted to let you know that a Scottie garland will be on it's way to you on Friday! Will you please e-mail me your new address at elizabeth.andrus@yahoo.com You have made my day! E

Oh! They are so cute!!! Congratulations on finding them. They are all sweet as can be, but my heart did a flip when I saw that kitchen one! I do love that color scheme. What is your kitchen color scheme, by the way. Hope you have a beautiful day, Holly! Twyla

WOW! What a lucky find! I have only seen a few at antique stores and they have been to expensive.
How fun! I can't wait to see what you create with them!

I'm so glad that you stopped by today! You inspired me to take a moment and visit my "vintage loving" friends ;)

YOU are the perfect person to find these decals. They now have a wonderful home!

Speaking of home, I'm sorry about your curtain dilemma. I remember when we bought our house, I told the realtor that I didn't want any of the window coverings there after the papers were signed, because I was so sick of icky drapes and blinds. It sounded like a great idea until the sun came out. We bought it in JULY, which means blazing afternoon sun in Wisconsin. Thank goodness my Mom found a sale on shades. I will keep pondering a solution for you!

BTW your Avon shaker is actually a perfume sachet that was originally sold with solid perfume "sachet" in it. Be glad you didn't have to clean yours out, euuuw. Unfortunately I am speaking from experience.

What a great spice shaker for your hard-boiled eggs though!

You've definitely been finding some great treasures. Happy Hunting!

Oh what a fun find for you Holly. I can almost hear you squealing in joy all the way here in Minnesota. I'm going to have to keep my eyes out for those when I'm out antiquing, now that I see which ones you enjoy finding so much and if I find any that are reasonably priced, I'd be more than happy to pick up a few for you to add to your collection if you'd like. I see vintage decals occasionally, but they seem so expensive to me and I dont recall them being anywhere near as cute as the ones you found. Once I see are typically ugly fruit decals. What price range would you be OK with?

Hi Holly!
What a find! These decals make me smile whenever I see them on vintage furniture. My brother and I shared a painted dresser that had fuzzy lambs and bunnies on each drawer. It will be fun to see what you do with them or copies of them.

Awwww- Sorry I only just now saw this - and thank you for the shout-out!
Your decals are so sweet, and I know you don't want to try to use them - but I HAVE used vintage decals (smaller ones) and have had only GOOD luck. In a way, I hate to use them because I have so few, but they add such a sweet little touch to my shelves and things that I paint. There are reproductions available, but there's something about using an original, vintage one that I like. I always hate to see them go, though. You have found some of the sweetest ones!
