Got Farm?

We sure hope so! We're looking at this farm to rent!!!! I know... some of you will think I'm CRAZY to even consider moving again so soon but I am NOT a town girl! Living in town is wearing me to a frazzle! This wonderful farm is in the cozy little town that I've been eyeing for some time-even before our house sold in VA! We'd only be 20 minutes away from the boys and the grands.
Look at this cool 1904 barn!

The farm has a little 4 bed room house that needs lots of work! One of the bedrooms has just insulation- no wall coverings and all the floors are in various stages of being re- done.
I do not like these shrubs out front but look! The house has Green gables! ☺
The huge yard has lots of interesting rock walls and plenty of flat land for our pool and trampoline and I could even have a garden spot.

But most of all the farm has LAND and lots of it! It would take days to explore it all. Micah and Lexi would have a blast! We didn't want to leave and we would have stayed longer if it wasn't still occupied by the current renter.

Wouldn't this be a wonderful place to spend Fall or how about the rest of my LIFE?

Look! It's SKY!
You can sort of see the apple orchard behind the house. We didn't explore that spot because the current renter has her horse back there. This place is all set up for animals!
Here's the long drive way to walk and ride bikes on. The mail box is way at the end. I love that. ☺

We could so easily envision all the grands and Micah running and playing on Gramma and grammpa's farm! I felt so rested after being here. We didn't want to leave. Did I already mention that? ☺ Here's the back of the house.

See the doors off the little detached garage? The current 5 year renter took all the doors off of almost everything. ☺

Here's an aerial view of part of the farm (provided by the landlord.) The brown fields are wheat fields that are leased out to local farmers.
This is the view of the cannon *behind* the farm. We never found this view because we never found the END of the farm!
We called the Chicago landlord from the farm on Friday evening and told him that we WANT IT. We received and sent back the rental application today. He says several other people are interested in it, too! Rats! Well, the Lord knows what we need and I hope, hope, hope, we need this farm! ☺
In the midst of all this, I'm still baby sitting the grands a lot. Their mommy comes home tomorrow night so gramma duty is almost over. I thought I would be taking a holiday once I'm done but I'll gladly pack up boxes again instead! Good thing I'm not all unpacked!

I'm Glad I Can Be Weird In Blog Land!

I received a wonderful give away recently from Lori at Ruffles, Ribbons and Roses. Lori really out did herself and filled my box with oodles of fun and pretty things!
I think the glitter bellow is what I originally entered the give away for but I got all this other great stuff, too! Such cute packaging! I had so much fun going through this box!
But when I opened my box, it was this "wonder bread" tissue paper that gave me the biggest thrill! Tee-hee!
I know I'm weird but that's okay in blog land -right? Thanks again, Lori for sending me such a fun box!
I'm busy as a bee with baby sitting the grands! If I seem to be MIA- that's why!

Latest Goodwill Finds!

I finally got to the Good Will again! Boy have I missed it! This is a new cookie jar for when the grands come over. I was going to use it in my craft room but Micah thinks the grands would like it more than me, so I guess I'll share! ☺ I think Kitty Anne likes it, too! I also found this lovely rose bowl! I love it! This Idaho Good Will has a lot more dishes than my VA one did but they have a lot less nice clothes. PNW people just don't spend as much on clothes as they do down South!
Looks like we'll be helping Christopher to take care of the grands for 12 days! HELP!

Blue Satin Box

I bought this wonderful little vintage box on the same day that I bought my kitty card (from yesterday). The box reminded me of my mom so I bought it for $3.50 - even though it has a bit of a stain on it. I'd like to try and treat the stain but it's on the lid which has a cardboard base. Any suggestions or experience?
I think my mom had a lingerie (?) bag in this color and I loved feeling it when I was a little girl. I might just alter this box but I don't know! I'm not sure if I want to change it's simplicity...
Big responsibility coming up!
My DIL Sara has to fly to PA to be with her little sister who just had a 7 month preemie. That means Gramma gets to baby sit every day for... not sure how long!
~ Gulp ~
Daddy Christopher will have the children at night but bring them over here every day. I hope to make some good memories with them and hopefully by the time their mom returns, they will still like Gramma's house! (And Gramma will still be alive!) ☺

A Kitty Card To Share!

Isn't she perfect? She was found at my local antique mall for only 50 cents! That's real pink yarn on the front. Too cute! The inside of the card is signed 1957. Please feel free to copy this image for your use.
This is my alone day- woo-hoo!

Future Beachy Shelf?

Look, girls! My dear DIL Sara picked up this shelf/drawer for me at a garage sale! I'm thinking about changing out the knobs with some glass ones and using it in my powder room. I thought I'd also hang some beachy things from the knobs and put something beachy on top. What do you think?

There is one problem though- opening the drawer would jiggle whatever is on top since the drawer doesn't open properly. I guess whatever I put in the drawer would have to be seldom used... Maybe cleaning supplies?

Camera Lost and Found!

The guys took the camera with them when they went fishing last week and they lost it! We looked everywhere for it- even the freezer! It was gone for almost a week but then Bobby found it! And guess where in the world it was! In his truck. Hmmmm... So, I hope to take a bunch of pics today to make up for lost time. Boy did I miss my camera!

This is my Friday but I hope everyone else has courage to face their Monday!
Thanks for coming by!

Strawberry Love From Noelle

This is so sweet! My regular readers might remember that I bought this same exact strawberry plate at Michael's crafts when I first arrived in Idaho.
At that *same time* my dear friend Noelle from Lil Bits and Pieces of Me, bought one FOR ME too! but also she bought other strawberry themed items to go with it and sent it off as a house warming present! It's so heart warming to have people know what you'd like- even if you've never met in person! Thanks again, sweet Noelle!
This above is an ice cube tray! Cute! I'm saving some of the cups to hold craft supplies but I'm also letting my Grand girl Lizzy drink from some of them when she comes over.
Guess what?! I've won 3 give aways in one week! Ha-ha! What's up with that?! Between that and house warming gifts, it's been such a good boost! This re-locating stuff is tough business and it's nice to have something that *hasn't* changed (The fun of blogging friends!)
Well I'm finally healthy enough to have another grand child day! Today is finally Becky Day! ~ Clap, clap, clap ~ We're going to "scrap book". I had my craft table all ready for her a couple weeks ago but now it's all junked up again! Why oh why can't those tables stay clear?
Have a great week end everyone! I love each and every one of you! I really do!

Red Love

Looky here, girls! I love RED in my kitchen! It's Christmas all year round in here now! There's my dot cookie jar for the grands and my framed vintage Christmas cards behind. I know. My window is a bit much but it makes me happy to have dots, strawberries AND a gingey girl in the same happy spot!

Love these colors in this little vintage pot holder! Remember this, Queenie?
My duplex/rental kitchen cupboards are so ug,ug, ugly! This is my pitiful attempt to change that without paint! The lace is sticky vinyl that I've used off and on for years.
I made several of these little check/floral color pops for the centers of the smaller cabinets.
Here's a close up of one. I took sooo many pics trying to get the light right! There's no natural light in here so it's really hard. See the sticky tack? I didn't even know it showed till I saw this pic! ☺

So, even though I'm known as a Pink girl in blog land, I love Red, too! And Blue and Yellow and... ☺
I had a great day off yesterday! It was fun to look around at the antique mall without Micah. I picked up a couple little treasures that didn't break the bank and I'll try to get pics today!
I'm not sure what's going on today but it's bound to be fun! Hope you have a fun day too- even if it's not *your* weekend.

One More Meyercord Decal

I went back to my antique mall and bought one more Meyercord decal! For some reason, I wasn't crazy about the rabbit but I loved the cart and the flowers in it!

I've started scanning my decals but my favorite one is too big for the scanner! Any suggestions?

Today is my day off and I'm going to make myself get out and go to the antique mall again. I've yet to go all by myself when I can *really* take my time to look and dig.

Thanks for coming by! I Hope you all have a great day!

Paper Babies!

Yes folks, it's still baby time at Girls at Heart! Could it be because my dear DIL Sara is expecting again? ☺ By the end of Winter, I should be a gramma to 4! ☺And I'll get to be with this one! I picked up this big book of paper babies at my antique mall. Only $4.00!

They were made in 1970. I Love those bright 70s colors but the art work still has a lingering 60s feel.

Twin girls! One blond the other brunette- just like my grand girls!

They came with several outfits each and I'm going to laminate them and let the girls play with them when they each have their special day at gramma's. Eeek! I love the bunny!

Did I mention that my Sara wants twins?
I baby sit all 3 grands today while their mom and dad go look at a house to buy. I soooo hope they get it!
Sorry I've been MIA this week. I've been one sick girl! Over doing it- me thinks... It's hard for me to rest when there are still a few (hateful) boxes to unpack and blank walls just waiting to be decorated!
I have more things to show you but I've also been having the worse time with my pics not turning out lately! Don't you hate that? It's taking me a while to figure out the lighting in this new place. I think my pics are turning out but then when I upload them, I see that they are blurry!
We're supposed to cool down this week end! Whew! I took my boy and dog to the field last night and it was still 84 degrees! I really am loving Idaho, though! No humidity is way, way wonderful!
Have a great week end everyone and I hope to have more posts next week!

Familar Faces

Unpacking my belongings reminds me of seeing familar faces. "Oh, there you are! Hi!" ☺ And what's even more fun...
is that these familar faces have real faces connected to them! AKA pressies from friends!

You know who you are! Thanks to all of you for making my life a better place to be!
