I'm All Moved In!

My computer is still here at the duplex where I'm writing now but everything else is at the new house! I've been sick as a duck but I'm still happy!

This old house has many wrinkles in it but I'm very thankful for this spanking new fridge that the landlord put in! I hate cleaning out the old ones! Here you can also see what my cupboards are like. They are all white! They need fresh paint some day and I don't like the hardware on them but they are White! Hurray! No dark wood paneling or cupboards in this house! I love to think about the lady who painted it all and how the Lord thought, "Oh, Holly is going to love all this White when she gets here!"

My counters are a very old vintage medium Green with dark Green lines criss crossing all through it- which I'm not too happy with but I know I'll get used to them.

Internet woes!

Blog posts might be scarce around here because we still don't have Internet on the farm! We don't know when or *IF* we'll be able to get it either! ~ FAINT ~ We've gone round and round with several companies. At first they say yes we can have it but then later they say we cant! One company even told us we couldn't even have a phone there! It's been crazy. The Internet man who came to the farm yesterday told me that we could get set up for Internet for about $2,000.00!!! Ha-ha-ha-ha! If worse comes to worse, you'll be hearing from me from the library or a restaurant!

I hope you'll hear from me soon! I've missed visiting with all of you!

A Phone Cubby!

I guess that's what it is! There's no phone jack anywhere near, though... It's located in the "hallway" by the back entry area. This cubby will be one of many fun little projects for me to work on in my new/old farm house! I'd like to paint, put cute paper in the back and display something fun there. I have an antique black phone I could put there but I'm not into black right now. I actually thought I could paint polka dots on the phone and then maybe it would work for me but I don't know...

Wish me well! This might be my last day in town! Micah has a bad cold and I was awake in the night with a bad sore throat! This will really keep things REAL! Ha-ha!

An Arch Way To Stencil!

All you girls have been so sweet to celebrate with me over this old house! Once I'm settled, I'll have to have a house warming give away! This pic is taken from the dinning room looking into the living room. I've always wished for an arched door way to stencil around! See my awesomely huge living room window? You can't tell in this pic but it has a little bullet hole through one of the sheets of glass! Ha! You know you're a redneck when.... ☺ I'll look past that bullet hole and just see my fir trees and 1904 RED BARN in the distance.

This day will be another big, packing, hauling, cleaning day but after 2 days of rest- I'm ready!
I hope you find joy in all that you do today!

My Favorite Built- In

My new farm house has many built-ins and this one in the dinning room is my favorite! It even has a plate rail! I love how the dinning room also has this great big window looking out to the front. Micah found that jack-o lantern full of pennies in the garage!

I'm still clean, clean, cleaning away at the farm but I can't clean it two days in a row or my back rebels! Oh how fun it would be to have super human strength!

I hope you all have a super fun week end! You are loved and needed in this world!

Got Laundry?

Look at this cool strip of vintage floor in my laundry area! The only thing is, my washer and dryer will pretty much cover it up! Wish I could move it but it appears to be glued.

I'll be gone all day cleaning away at the farm so comments will be slow to publish! ☺

Welcome To My Rose Closet

Old houses are full of fun surprises! Look at the vintage rose wallpaper in my upstairs linen closet! It's only on one wall, is barely hanging there and it's brittle. I'd love to preserve it somehow. Any ideas? I'd also love to know what era this might be from if anyone is in the know.

I think I get to go out to the farm and start cleaning tomorrow! A little bit has been done already but I need to do much more before moving in!

More pics to come this week!

Have a great day!

Cool Light

We went out to the farm last night and met our new landlord! I took several inside pics and this one was the high LIGHT! ☺ This is the light fixture in my new room! Cool, huh? The electricians are going to check it out and make sure it's safe before I use it.

We can go over and start cleaning and bringing boxes the 21rst! Contractors will be there for a while doing electrical work, etc so we won't actually move in until they are done.

Have a great week end, everyone! I'll be packing. ☺

I Have A Mystery To Solve!

Do you like a good mystery? ☺

Over four years ago, I rented a hog farm in South Dakota. The landlords of that farm recently called to let me know that I received a package from Reimen publications! Reimen publishes Country, Country Woman, Birds and Bloom and Backyard Living magazines. I subscribed to every one of those magazines while I lived on that farm. I couldn't imagine what the package contained but since I entered lots of contests back then, I thought that I had won something! But after four years? I couldn't wait until the landlords forwarded my package so I could find out what was inside! Well, lo and behold the package arrived with this farm/dinner triangle inside and a thank you note for submitting something that they chose to publish! But what was it? And after 4 years? Was this package lost somewhere all this time?

I wrote a lot back then and I know I submitted several pieces of writing to them because their magazines are reader written. It may have been something as simple as a gardening tip but maybe even an article but I simply don't know what it was! Ha-ha! I'd love to be able to say, "I've been published!" But I feel pretty silly about not knowing WHAT I wrote! ☺

I wrote to Reimen to present the mystery and they wrote back to say that they are working on it. I find the timing very interesting... I had just been telling a few people that I felt like I could write again once we get out to the quiet of the farm. And now that I'm moving back to a farm, I could certainly use a dinner bell for calling Micah from the back 40!

I'm glad life has funny little mysteries like this! It makes life interesting!
Thanks for coming by!

Housewarming Equals Heartwarming

M from Tales from an OC Cottage knows when I need a Pink fix! Thanks again, M! It's fun to have a little bit of *you* in my home and these goodies will be so happy out on the farm!
I'm packing away over here, girls! Micah and I are trying really to stay healthy. The other brothers have all been sick so were popping vitamins and drinking cayenne concoctions!
We get to go out to the farm again tomorrow! The current renter is going to teach us how to use the wood burning furnace.
Have a great week!

One of Elizabeth's little peg dolls came to live at my house! Thanks again, Elizabeth! Isn't this Blondie adorable?! I won't keep her under plastic forever but I loved the wrapping so much that I left it on until after I move again! If you've never visited Elizabeth's blog, Creative Breathing, then you're missing out! Elizabeth is a gentle and lovely soul so go read her stories and see her creations! You'll be glad you did! We made another trip out to the farm and I took this side view of the house. So perfect-right down to the chippy paint and over grown grass! Girls, this is so me!
I found out that the farm is approximately 345 acres! Mind you, the majority of that is planted in wheat and leased out to local farmer's but we have the "personal use" of about 13 acres! Our eldest son Adrian is thinking about buying a horse in the Spring. He'd keep it at our place and pay Micah to take care of it! We're also talking about getting 4 wheelers! It's going to be so much fun! Thank you, Lord for this miracle!
Thanks for all the congratulations on the farm and I hope you all have a great week end!

I'm Moving To The Farm!

I'm moving at the end of the month, girls! I believe it's a miracle that we're moving here and I'll have a complete story for you soon! I might be a scarce blogger since I have less than a month to be ready! Thanks to everyone who encouraged and supported me in this move!

Vintage Pillow Case Idea

Hello girls! I saw this decorating idea on another blog a while back. Do you have a vintage bed pillow case that you want to make good use of? Put your pillow case on a square throw pillow and flap it over! So easy and it show cases the embroidery with a horizontal view. I like the casual cottage look it gives.

Don't give up on the resale shops, girls! I found this case for 25 cents in the linens bin!
Our whole family went to the river for a pick nick yesterday evening. It had been a while since we were all together. The highlight of the trip for me was hearing a huge splash and then seeing a beaver swimming in the river! He swam across and then went up on the bank. I could even see the shine in his big,fat tail! I had never seen one in the wild before so it was a real treat!
Have a wonderful day everyone! You are all precious in God's sight!
Woo-hoo! We got it! We're moving to the farm!!!!

My First Card In Idaho

I hadn't made a card since February! I wanted to use one of my new nursery images so I made this simple, little sweetie.

I've missed crafting so much and as simple as this card is- it wasn't easy! It's hard for me to create when my mind is distracted and stressed but I knew it would make me happy in the end and it did!

Farm Update:

First, we were turned down by the landlord and it broke my heart but now he is "thinking" about renting to us. Talk about an emotional roller coaster! I've never lost hope but no matter what happens, I'm determined to have fun and be happy!

Come back tomorrow for a decorating tip!
