My (first) Idaho Kitchen!

This is my "kitchen counter" in my Idaho motel home. ☺ Isn't it cute? I have a microwave and a mini fridge plus other "counter space". My son Caleb (24) picked the flowers for me and they cheered me much! I see Caleb the most often since he's not working full time right now and he picks me flowers all the time.

Living in a motel room is *very* trying for solitude loving me but the Lord shows me the positives in every nook and cranny. ☺ We might be staying here for a couple more weeks but we're just taking one day at a time. We have our eye on what we're referring to as our "dream rental" but we'd like a full time job before committing to a lease.

One positive here is that I get to enjoy the Lilacs twice this year! The Lilacs were done in Virginia long ago but they are in full bloom here in Idaho!

I just found my camera cord last night so more posts should be coming your way! I can't tell you how happy it made me to find that cord! I just had to take a picture for my blog and it helped me to feel so much more "normal".

Today, my Micah was very sick so I just hung out at home with him. I'm only a couple blocks away from my grands though so I was able to walk over and read them a quick story at nap time. What a blessing!

Seeing my adult children has been so fun! My eldest stopped by last night to give me a roll and some yummy cheese before he went off on a climbing trip. It's really starting to sink in that I don't have to miss them anymore!

Seeing the lovely pictures on your blogs has been so refreshing to me! Thank you all for your posting and visiting me.

Welcome To My World!

This is where I'm at now, girls! I didn't take this pic- I just found it on flicker. I typed in "Palouse" which is the name of the region here in Idaho. Just picture mountains in the distance and you'll see what I see when I drive through the countryside. Oh, and you have to insert some very tall boys and a sweet little daughter in law and three little grands and you've got the whole picture!
I slept great last night! Thank you, Lord. I can't say I *feel* great yet but I know I will again- some day!

I'm In Idaho!

My! I sure miss my blogging friends but I've made it! I'm here in Idaho! I feel sort of like I do after child birth. Totally shattered inside and out but glad to be holding (all) my babies! ☺
Please pray for my nervous system. I haven't slept much in the last 7 days.
For me that means depression, a real low tolerance for noise and you can throw in a bit of hallucinating in there too but maybe after a whole day of no traveling, my body can remember how to shut down at night.

We're staying in a motel around the corner from my boys and grands and we're looking at some rentals today. Bobby also has an interview on Wed. for the job that he wants but he can work with my boys in the meantime if he wants too... Everything else is coming together so surely my body will too- RIGHT?

Once I learn how to upload pics on my lap top, I'll post some!

For My New Home

Bloggy friends, I still don't know what my new home will be but when I do- Ta-da! A wicker cupboard from the GW for $5.00! It will probably get a paint job. I *could not* pass it up! It and me had a stare down in the GW as I contemplated its future! This one is blurry but it helps show the size of the shelf with my library book on it.

AND this mirror will get a painted make over too and it looks like the girl needs one as well! Check out the hair! Yup, that's me these days. GRUBBY!

Come back tomorrow to see what Bobby bought for our road trip and in honor of our upcoming 30th anniversary!
Bobby picks up our moving truck tomorrow morning! Yikes!

Last Minute Treasure Hunting?

Good day, girls!
I've been making "quick" trips to the GW to find shorts for Micah and the next thing ya know, I'm treasure hunting! You wouldn't believe all the good stuff they've had lately!!! I couldn't pass it all up- right? ☺ I really did need another bag to put our vitamins and medicines in and surely one of my grand girls will want this bitty little purse- right? And I couldn't pass up this little lamp. I think it's referred to as a Hob Nail lamp. Anybody know? I used to have one just like it with a glass shade and it was in my son's room. He asked if he could take it with him when he left home. I wonder if he still has it. I'll soon find out!
I also picked up these ABC blocks for a few cents. I'll have fun making words with them when we're settled again.
It felt good to do something happy and normal like treasure hunting. I'm so tired of ugly brown boxes!
Come back tomorrow to see what I scored for my new home in Idaho!

Decorating Ideas From The old Movies

I love Doris Day! She reminds me of my Mother. Different coloring but the same face. I generally fast forward through a lot of the songs and dances in these type of movies but I LOVE to look at the decor and clothing! Doris' kitchen in the Pajama Game was really fun to look at! So many neat pieces to admire and recognize.

I'm running out of things to pack! This is good, right? I guess I can start cleaning!

Have any of you played Phase 10? It's a really long card game that Micah and I have been playing every day. It's pretty fun, although I hated it at first! (I don't do numbers very well.) We don't play a whole game in one sitting, though. We go back to it throughout the day in between work and school. we play out on the deck and enjoy the Spring time! (Well, except for those 2 days that were so humid that they made me sick! Bleh!)

Enjoy your Spring day! God loves you just the way you are and so do I!

Sweet Spring!

All 3 of these were in bloom at the same time in my yard! So pretty! I didn't notice the utility company's Orange arrow until after I downloaded the pic. Hee-hee! I still don't know what that yellow Orange bush is!

Okay- I guess I do have a potty pot! (See yesterday's post!)

Had a bit of a melt down yesterday...
I told Bobby that I woke up feeling like a little girl who didn't want to grow up so he encouraged me to be a little girl all day long!
Then he told me that he wants to buy me a LAPTOP so I can blog and facebook on our trip! Isn't he the best?! The Lord certainly has made up for my horrendous first "childhood" by giving me this wonderful man! I had to laugh though- here I was telling you girls that I have to pinch pennies so I beg for magazines and meanwhile this man is thinking laptops! Ha-ha! We will never be on the same money page!

I hope you all find something good in your day- even if you're having a meltdown! ☺

What Is It?

It's a new week, girls! And the last FULL week that I have to pack for Idaho! Yikes! I alternate between intense excitement and extreme fear! May the excitement win! ☺ My Bobby thinks this Red and White enamelware pot is a chamber pot. Do you think?! It was in the basement of this house when we first moved in and it helped inspire the decorating theme for my vintage Red and Yellow kitchen. I really like it but I don't want to gross anyone out by displaying it. What thinkest thou?
Magazines:
Do any of you have any magazines to spare? I know I'm going to miss the beauty of blogging while we're on our moving trip so I'm hoping to have some pretties to look at in magazine form. This girl needs to save every penny until we get get another job in Idaho so yes, I'm shamefully begging for a magazine or two from my blogging sisters!

BTW, Bobby has been communicating with the University of Idaho and has a job he's applying for. Interviews will start about the time we arrive there. Perfect timing on everything!

No house lined up yet. Securing our house is my job and I'm picky. ☺ I know I'll be more excited once that's settled.

Y'all keep cheering for me! I need it!
