Just Watching The Farm

We rent a 345 acre farm- sort of. The 4 bedroom farm house and 12 or so acres surrounding it are for our own particular use...

while the rest of the acreage is leased out to local farmers for growing hay and wheat.

We still call the whole farm ours and we are free to explore every inch of it.

Watching the hay get bailed and loaded was the main event this week! There was a LOT of hay!

We had to watch the haying with our coats on. It's been cold here in the North West! Our pool is up but we've hardly used it at all. It's in the 30s this morning! It's supposed to warm back up and I'm glad. Although I do not desire the heat wave the rest of the US has been having, I *am* tired of being cold!

So, I haven't been crafting, treasure hunting or decorating. What *HAVE* I been doing? Just watching the farm. ☺

Watching the farm looks like a very enjoyable thing to do Holly. So much to see everyday and it would have been quite interesting to watch the haying process up close like that. I just hope you don't find yourself allergic to the hay. Sure hope it warms up for you. I would so NOT enjoy waking up to 30 degree temps at the end of July. Seems strange that it could be so cold in the morning where you live and sweltering hot in other parts of the country.

Love the swirling of the clouds above the rolling of the fields. I am happy to share some heat with you. Glad to hear someone is enjoying cooler temps...and with that view it is worth it...smiles...Renee

Watching the farm, being on the look out for anything that flies, walks, talks or gives a moo. Just thinking about your long journey back to the Northwest and where you ended up. Such a perfect fit for you. I believe it is all in God's perfect plan for you. He gives us daily our hearts content as we open our eyes and look all around us.
Sun in Bellingham! Thank God literally!

WHAT?!?!?! In the 30s? I didn't know there was anywhere in the country that wasn't frying!
You've definitely got the best of both worlds. You are living on a working farm, but don't have to do the work! That must have been so much fun watching the haying, even with your coats on. Honestly, I'd rather be cold than hot. At least you can still be outside and be comfortable. I hate this heat!!!

Hey Holly (no pun intended), I am so envious of that beautiful farm you live on. Life must be so peaceful there. I am surprised that it is so cold there. Kind of envious of that too:) I had a birthday yesterday and have been busy nursing a sick husband for the past two weeks. I have missed you. So happy to see your post. Have a beautiful day! Twyla

H Holly,
Was thinking of you and had to stop by and say hello. Your farm is gorgeous and it sounds perfect to be watching the farm.
What a gorgeous place to live. You are so blessed. Inspirition all around you.
Have a wonderful weekend and I hope you warm up some. I wish I could send you some of our heat. We are in day 28 of triple digit temps. Today predicted 106. Way Hot here!!

Love to you,

Holly, Your post is just the most beautiful thing I could possibly want to see this Saturday morning. I think farms are such a gift. Growing up in Washington, DC, I still can't get over living in Ohio and being able to see things grow. It's a miracle to me! I am beyond happy that you live in this special place. Wishing you a wonderful weekend! Elizabeth

What an absolutely lovely peaceful place to live. We have even had a cooler than normal summer down here in So Cal but it has gotten a little hotter this week. Not too bad though.
