I'm only 2 hours from the Farm Chicks Antique show so I'm going this year. I've been saving change all year for it! I'm nervous... I almost chickened out. I'm making myself go in case I regret NOT going. I don't like to travel and I'm not a crowd person but I do love finding what I love and I want to see all those awesome booths! I'm going on Sunday June 3rd.Bobby is driving me and he'll just drop me off and go use the Internet somewhere. I'll call him when I'm ready to leave and we'll go out to eat before we head back home. I'm not one to shop for hours or be on my feet that long but I do hope to met a few people. Laurie from Magpie Ethel will be there. Who else is going? I'll (probably) be the tallest girl with the straw cowgirl hat on. I'll also have a blog badge and name tag. I still haven't decided what to wear... My biggest dilemma is shoes. I want to be cute yet comfortable. That cancels out my jogging shoes... ☺ If you're not going, I will take lots of pics for you to see!
Is there anything in particular that you would like me to take pictures of?
I don't usually post family pics on my blog and I'll probably end up deleting this one but here's me with 3 out of 4 of my boys on Mother's Day. The white haired cutie is my hubby Bobby and he's holding our youngest grandchild who had fallen asleep. I thought this pic was so funny because it looks like Bobby and I are both falling over! (Those boys wear us out!)We had a wonderful outing at the University of Idaho's lovely nature park- the Arboretum. Then we all went out to eat afterward. It was a fun day. ♥ SAD NEWS My sweet, adorable, adopted Chiweenie grand puppy killed 2 of my chickies yesterday! BOO-HOO! I was here alone and should have been watching her better. She found a little hole in the hen house and I came upon her after she had killed one and was in the process of killing another. I was afraid I was going to have to finish off the one but thankfully, it died on it's own. So sad! I slept late this morning and I still feel so traumatized.
That, my friends, is the reality of farm life... Sigh... When we had chickens years ago, we had a opossum get into our chickens in the night but never a puppy! And here, we were worried about the coyotes but not the puppy. You should see how sad Butters looks today! She may have been following her instincts, but she definitely feels guilty! We won't be replacing the chickens until we can make our hen house more secure. Thankfully we at least have one left. ♥ Life is a mix of good and bad- happy and sad. I really like that good and happy stuff best!
Hello girl friends! We finally bought chickens! This is Minnie and me posing INSIDE the chicken run on her first day home! Minnie is the easiest to catch because she's the smallest. We bought 3 little pullet hens- one for each of us. They won't lay until mid summer but that will give us time to build a little chicken tractor built so our eggs will be grass fed yummy! That's Minnie in the middle on their roost in the bunny barn. Yes, they share their indoor space with Isabella the bunny! The grands named the other two chickies but I can't remember what. I'll have to call the grands and ask them.
We finally have sun in Idaho! Hurray! It's still really cold at night but the sun during the day more than makes up for it. I won't be putting up the pool anytime soon, though. ☺
Hello girlfriends! This is my latest antique store purchase- Japanese made salt and pepper puppies! I think the one on the left is a girl and she really likes the boy on the right. The boy is not too sure, though! That's just the sense I got. ☺ I'm almost positive I've seen these shakers on another blog somewhere. Please do tell if you know where or if you know the date of these. I couldn't find any info on the Web.
I'm also showing these adorable blocks and spool made by my friend Kim from Shabby, Pink and Pretty! They sit on the counter space of my built in hutch.
I'm into day 3 of baby sitting 3 out of 4 grands. HELP! Ha-ha! For the first time ever, the girls are fighting and they started on the very first day. Thier mommy should be back sometime today and hopefully they will settle down for her. Having their daddy living away from home most of the time is certainly going to be a challenge for them. (And me?) Uh-oh! Here comes the littlest one- up already!
