I haven't taken any new pics since my surgery so I've reached far back to find some old ones and some random ones, too. I love my pink dishes and use them in my craft room!

All of them except the butter dish house tiny strips of fabric for my button ball garlands. I love the sound the dishes make when I handle them.

Here's the random family life pics:

This is my youngest (14) being coached by my eldest (30) in the art of rock climbing at the gym. My eldest is an excellent climber and has even been in a book. He says he thinks our youngest will surpass him in skill. I take my boy about once a week to do this. I am always exhausted the next day after going to the university gym. Yeah, that's how I roll. ☺

Here's my grandpuppy, Butters. She lives with us permanently now but I still refer to myself as her gramma. Hard to believe she's a chicken killer, eh? Other than the chicken episode and her potty accidents, she's brought much happiness to my life.

This is a before shot of the upstairs guest room/toy room/storage room. There is no after shot. Do you know why? Because I still haven't finished it and probably never will! That's the good thing about being 50. You can accept your faults and they turn into strengths like... knowing your limitations and being honest. ☺ Oh, but see my cool vintage dresser? Bella from Twilight has one like it, too.

Here's a first! Food on my blog! I thought this pic was so hilarious because my husband styled it on the hutch with Linda's yo-yo runner and snapped it! He was so happy that I made his favorite- tater tot casserole! Ha-ha! Poor man. I used to feel guilty and felt he deserved a domestic goodess instead of me but he assures me that he likes me just the way I am.

Even though I have many limitations, I *have* met a recent GOAL! Even with my surgery and recovery time, I've kept up on the dirty DISHES for about 3 weeks now and I'm determined to stay up on them! Nothing bothers me more than dirty dishes on a hot summer day so I wanted to establish a "keep the dishes done" habit before hot weather hits! Everything else can lag behind but NOT the DISHES! Can you tell how serious I am?

Enjoy your life, bloggy friends because I sure enjoy visiting your blogs- my FREE magazines!!

Good for you keeping up with the dishes, it sounds like you do them by hand not having a dish washer, at least when I don't want to do them it doesn't matter I tuck them away in the machine I can cheat like that lol. I have a storage area too it's under a wall and I can't stand up in there so it's hard to keep it organized as it KILLS my knees to kneel down on them for long so I just can shut that door and forget about it lol..take care and I hope things work out for you with the recent vein surgery I know you've been through a lot with it so far.

Hi Holly, I hope you continue on the mend so your feeling your best. Oh the task of dishes. Some days it seems like that's all I'm doing is dishes. I honestly cannot believe all the dishes we have for only a family of four. Some days I'm unloading two loads of dishes from the dishwasher a day. Good for you for keeping up with them.

I can relate to the dirty dishes, I swear some nights, I just can't deal.....but by morning I have my second wind...lol Would you like to do a one on one tag swap ? I would be so honored to have one that represent your blog....They are triangular ( at least the one you make me) and I am only asking so many, but you had to be one of them!
There is no time limit, hopefully by fall, and they are to represent your blog...Miss E started it, and she has us all a flutter....let me know sweetie! Sandy .

Sounds like you are recovering well if you're able to keep up with the dishes! LOL
Yes, as you get older you realize that some things just aren't that important or is it maybe I'm just getting lazier...I'm older than you by the way, so my excuses are even better! ;)

Holly, I am so glad to hear that you are not perfect. LOL. So many blogs portray the writers as perfect housewifes, perfect cooks, perfect decorators, etc. I am also so glad to know that you too have had the dirty dishes problems. I live in an old house with no dishwasher and I really don't want to put one in because I will lose the fabulous cabinet space that I have. So, alas, I have to wash dishes. Sometimes they stack up and it is so embarrassing, but I try. Also, thank you for sharing your spare room photo. So happy to hear others have a room or two like this. As a crafter, decorator, online retailer, my house is in constant disarray at times. So, I appreciate the honesty. Keep washing those dishes...maybe we can encourage each other. LOL.

Hi there Holly girl,

I love a pink parade and a rock climbing adventure, at least watching it, I don't want to climb the rock...nope, not I said the scaredy cat!

Yeah for you and keeping up with dishes and weathering the surgery and making dinner while you are at it!

We are heading out on a vacation in another week. Over to Winthrop and down to Portland for the Palmer Wirf antique show, a whole week of play and no panic or plans or petty tasks, just play!

I'm one of those who doesn't keep up with the dirty dishes! It would be so easy to just wash them after dinner, but there's so many other things that I could be doing, that are alot more fun!
Hope your recovery time is going well, and you're not getting too bored. It's so hot over here that I can only stand being outside in the early morning and the evening. I hate that!!!

You're so right about blogland being like a magazine. I used to spend lots of money each month on decorating mags. Now I just go to blogs! :)
