The Yellow Roses Are Back!

Happy first day of summer! This is a pic from LAST YEAR but the yellow roses are back and I want to root some this year so I have some to take with me when we leave next spring. Can anyone recommend an easy way? I've never done it before.Guess what? I FINALLY had LEG SURGERY for those huge, painful, ropey varicose veins that USED to COVER my legs!!!! In all the vein photos I've seen, no one has had them as large as mine! So celebrate with me! Yay! Shorter skirts, capris and shorts- here I come! I haven't wore shorts in public in over... 20 years? I'm so excited! I had my legs repaired on Monday and Tuesday and it hurt more than I expected but recovery time is supposed to be short. I'm still very bruised, sore and limping around but that shouldn't last long!

I should be much cooler this summer without having to wear long skirts and pants all the time or worrying about someone pulling up to the house while I am wearing shorts! Ha-ha!

Enjoy your first day of Summer! We actually have sun so maybe it will also be WARM! Now wouldn't THAT be nice? ♥

Varicose veins were my mother's struggle as well...she never got the surgery, but I am sure it would have made the quality of her life much better. When you recover...enjoy those capris! =D

Holly,
Thank you for stopping by. I bet everyone is wondering what happened to me. I have been going crazy on my end, finishing up the room and now I am trying to get a couple patterns done up. I am being published in a magazine that comes out July 1 and I was hoping to have the two patterns done for the items in the magazine. I have done patterns for years but turning them into PDF patterns is a whole 'nother thing! Wish me luck!! Thanks for the nice comment, and hopefully you all will see me back in action soon. If I ever get done that is . . .
Hugs,
Julie

Hi Holly hope your legs are feeling better. My Mom had her veins done the old way back in the 70's and she said it was the worst decision she ever made. Now, about the roses, you can take a cutting any time during the summer, just nip off a branch, not too long and just above a "leaflet" that has 5 smaller leaves on it. Now, stick the cut end of the branch into a jar of Rootone, you can buy this at nurseries, big box stores, ect. then stick the "Rootone" end into a smallish pot filled with a light, potting mix. Keep the little pot indoors and moistened until next spring when it should be ready to plant outside! ☺
