Looky What I Got!

I no longer have thrifted Pyrex envy!  ☺  I found this 60's dot bowl for $1.00 at my favorite local thrift!  Their hours are funny and they don't have much but I keep finding cheap vintage goodies there!  I'm sort of tired of this color blue so I'll save it to put in my future booth.
Here's a clearer shot of my new apron.  I so love it!

My grandboy just turned 7 and I wrapped his packages up real cute.  I think he cares about things like that but doesn't want to let on.
Speaking of cute.  ☺  This is my soon to be state trooper son.  Don't let that smile and those dimples fool you- he's one tough guy!

We made another offer on a different HOUSE today.  Fast huh?  We really don't want to move in the middle of winter if we can help it so we're keeping up our momentum.  *This* time, I'm not showing *any* pics until the offer is *accepted* and  *after* the inspection passes!  This house is nice and new though so our realtor and lender do not foresee any problems at all.  And no, it's not my house or yard of dreams but there are many nice things about it that I will allow myself to get excited about *if* it all works out.  I'll keep you posted!  I still cry about the other house but it's okay.  They're just tears.
Thank you so, so much for all your love and support!  ♥

Oh, I sure do hope your offer is accepted and it passes the inspection after the heartbreak of losing that other cute place!!! Can hardly wait to see pictures!

A dollar for a New Dots bowl?! That is one of the most amazing scores that I have heard about in a looooooong time! It is definitely a silver lining to the little cloud you have been under.

That smile and those dimples will have every girl in the state following him around!! Congrats to him on his new job! Your little snowman apron really is cute. I LOVE the blue polkadot bowl. That is exactly the color I do look for. You can sell it to me, :-) Best wishes for this new house. Hope it all goes smoothly and that you are able to close and get moved in before the holidays.

Hi Holly, oh how I want a red dotty bowl like that. Wonder if I will ever stumble upon one? Sorry about the house! Hope this one works out for you. Keep your chin up girl!!! Trooper son is a cutie. He can certainly stop traffic with that smile and those dimples!

Will you look at that Pyrex bowl. What a find Holly. I traded all my plastic for Pyrex years ago and I just love it. Especially the refrigerator containers with the glass lids. I also tossed all my metal pans and bought stoneware and I love that too. Both products are built to last. I can't wait until you get on Pinterest...you'll go nuts!

House news is wonderful! Moscow! Mary Janes farm country right? Looking towards seeing pictures!!!

Going to dinner at Kara's house today and filling up my booth with toys. I found a bunch of Peanuts and Strawberry Shortcake goodies...I hope someone will take them away and buy them up!

Cheers to Sunday, and good times ahead!

LOVE your trooper!

Oh my goodness Holly, I'm so excited. Hey, there's nothing wrong with a newer house. You would be surprised how you can "vintage" up a new place. We built our home about 7 or 8 years ago but it looks like a comfy, cute little cottagy style house, not just boring or boxy. all those little touches you will be adding will make it just right! I'm so, so happy and will be crossing my fingers, and toes!! And by the way, your son is adorable. If I ever have to get pulled over I hope it's by that set of dimples!!! :)

That bowl is too, too cute!
I hope this house is the one and it all works out. Many hugs.

Thanks for popping in to see me.
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)

Another dotty piece? I'm still waiting for my first! That stuff is SO $$$ here.
Well, of course I'm pulling for you and this house, and although it might not be your dream house, I have no doubt that it's going to be full of charm and VERY cute when you're done with it!

I also have fingers crossed and hope that your move will be swift. I often think of moving again just to have another place to play with, and call our own. But we are done moving.....
And your son with the smile and the dimples..oh dear!
So happy you are finding vintage Pyrex for such good deals!!!!

Seriously?! A $1 for New Dot Pyrex?! You are one lucky lady!
Good luck on your new home! I will keep my fingers crossed for ya! :)

To the pictures, I say, " Cute, cute, cute and cute!" How did you ever find that bowl for a buck? I want to buy it! I love the apron too! Your new home is going to be wonderful. You will make it your own in your own cute way!

Chenille Cottage said...

Oh, Holly...You've been blessed with a whole quiver full! Your son is darling and will make a great (not to mention an adorable) trooper.

Your incredible find is just perfect with it's snappy blue polka dots. Do polka dots ever go out of style? I don't think so.

I'm so sorry about the disappointment you have felt over the first home. I just pray that God reveals to you a special reason that you are being planted in a different place. Could it be the neighbors need your sweet testimony, hospitality, or friendship? When God closes the doors I try to remember that He sees from above and that means around the next corner.
I continue to hope and pray for your new nest and that it will really feel "heaven sent" in the coming days.

Awesome Pyrex find! Love, love, love the apron! Mom's & Grandma's are the best present wrappers EVER! Best of luck with the next house!!!

I'm glad your comment worked. It did cut off at the end though, not sure why! I really hope all your monkey business with the house pays off, I'll be very happy when you get settled into a place you love. I'm sorry you went through all of that too, but I am glad you were big enough that you didn't get physically bullied too. In 7th grade I was 4' 7" and weighed 71 pounds, pretty easy to push around. Sometimes it's not the physical stuff that hurts as bad as the emotional pain of not feeling good enough. Lucky for us we both had wonderful loving people in our lives. Also I think we are both the type of person who is more optimistic and happy and not going to let something that happened back then ruin all chances for happiness. Have a great weekend!
