Cottage Cabinets!

Hey there friendies!  Moving is going great!  I'm sore and tired but I'm happy, too!  Tired and happy is much better than tired and sad- don't ya think?  I wanted to show you the cute cabinets from both of my new powder rooms.  I was afraid the previous owners might take them since I knew they were not original to the house.  This first one is in *MY* powder room.  ☺  I added the pink starfish from M and a rolled up wash cloth so you can tell the size of it.  I want to add a glass knob and cute paper to it.

This second cabinet is from the main bath and I'll be able to hang a pretty towel from it.  Both baths are painted the same sage green.  I tried to get the lighting right so you could set the exact color but it was hard.  Where the bath lights shine on the wall, it looks lighter but on the shadowy side it's darker.  I would rather a lighter color but this will do for now.  Compared to the yucky walls of the farm house- these baths make me feel like a princess!
Two more big days and I'll be sleeping at the new house!  Yippee!
Thanks for helping me move!

Moving day 2!  Go back a few posts to see the before shots of the dark living room.  This room already feels so much larger!  Yay! I can't wait to start adding pops of color.

I love the cathedral ceilings!  Even though my cottage is small, these ceilings make it feel big!

We moved some furniture over along with more boxes and "stuff".  I cleaned both houses and unpacked a couple of boxes.  I'm still not done packing here but I'm loving this gradual moving over instead of doing it all in one big day!  My DIL and grands came to the farm yesterday to tell it goodbye.  Then they met me over at the new house to see the inside for the first time.  they really enjoyed playing on the big swing set/fort!My eldest grand girl has had a hard time with us both moving but once she saw the new place with some of my cutie pie decor spread around, she felt better and kept telling me so.  ☺ I feel better, too.  I'm sure to cry at least one last time when I leave the farm for good but I know I'm going to enjoy my little Meadowbrook cottage so much!
Thanks for helping me move!

Moving Day One

Hey bloggy peeps!  I survived day one of our move!  I wanted to show you how there is a small empty lot beside my new house.  Here you can also see how close my nearest neighbor is.  Yikes!

Here's the hubs and my baby painting over the dark livingroom.  I told them to make a funny face.  ☺ Yesterday, we moved boxes over, cleaned and unpacked a bit.  We'll do the same today.  My DIL and the grands will come to say goodbye to the farm today, plus go with us to see the new house.  Busy, busy times but I actually felt really excited while I was there yesterday even though I still feel a bit shy about being in a neighborhood.  If you're a country girl, you understand.  Cleaning and unpacking a bit made me feel more like it's mine and I'm sure I'll feel more secure as time goes by.  Thanks for coming by and for you comments of cheer!  Remember, I moderate my comments so don't worry if you don't see your comment come up right away.

The Race Is On!

Hello friends!  I hope you're all over your Thanksgiving coma and ready to move on to Christmas!  It's almost time for me to move!  Yikes!  I'm packing up a storm over here and going through a mixture of excitement, sorrow, dread, panic, excitement, repeat!  I'm excited to have my own home again but sad to leave the farm.  Bear with me.  Here's one of the bedrooms of the new house (With the sellers belongs.).  The shelving extends all down that wall and continues onto the other wall!  I wish that was in my room!  This is the only room with wood flooring.

Here's an altered stocking I've been working on for my granddaughter.  I finally had to stop because creativity doesn't flow for me when I'm stressed!  I went back to working on button ball garlands which is something I can do without much thought but now all my crafts are packed.

Here I am on Thanksgiving with my trooper boy!  I'm so proud of him!  Are you wondering what possessed me to wear all green?  These are my favorite comfy "fat" clothes. ☺ I was so stressed on T day!  The noise levels about sent me over the edge a few times.  I don't do noise.  I may not post again until after the move but I'll be visiting your blogs on my coffee breaks.  I'm so looking forward to seeing your Christmas posts.  ♥

Shopping For The Booth

Imagine that- I actually have been doing something other than house hunting!  My local thrift store is the best place to find vintage goodies for amazing prices!  AS IF I need more to pack up-right?!  But if I want to have a booth some day then I need to keep collecting!  Some of these things I might keep for myself like the cutting board which is not vintage but *IS* pretty!  Underneath all this haul is a chenille popcorn spread.  It's the first time I've ever found vintage chenille at the thrifts!  It gives me a little thrill.  ☺  I'm not sure if the ice cream scoop is vintage or not.  Does anyone else know?  I've never seen one in that color before.  My happiest find was the metal ice cub tray.  I remember getting my tongue stuck on one of those when I was a kid!

Thanks for all the paint and arrangement advice!  Isn't it fun to decorate a new space?

Help Me Arrange The Dinning Room

This is the pic I tried to show you yesterday.  Nice, light and bright!  Much different than the living room, eh?  I love the creamy yellow color on the walls and the kitchen has the same.  The 3 bedrooms are some sort of off white and the bathrooms are a light sage green.
I need your help in arranging the furniture in the dinning room.  My table is the same size as theirs and my hutch is about the same too but I would like to arrange my pieces  differently.  This is a weak area for me.  I have a hard time visualizing space.  We thought we would like the table closer to the sliding glass door.  I love light!  I am also thinking about hanging a vintage sheet curtain on that door.  It's times like these that I wish I could cut and sew a strait line!  My head is swimming with ideas and I'd love to hear yours!

Help Me Decorate!

Good morning blog friendies!  Did you see my last post?  We got the house!  Yay!  So far, closing is still set for Nov. 27th.  Now I must choose a paint color for the living room because it won't be staying this DARK Burgundy!  My 6-11 son will be painting it for me the day we sign.  I already have a good primer but I must chose a nice light color to go over that.  Although my new cottage is small, the cathedral ceilings give it an open feel.  I'm envisioning a bench in front of that big window with colorful pillows on it to give a window seat feel!  I don't have a bench but I do have a wicker love seat that I meant to put on the porch but maybe for winter it will go in the living room!  What do you think?
Wow, one little click and another whole pic and paragraph were deleted!  Argh!  I guess I'll post one room /one post at a time!  I have so many ideas whirling in my head!  Let me hear yours!
