Moving Day One

Hey bloggy peeps!  I survived day one of our move!  I wanted to show you how there is a small empty lot beside my new house.  Here you can also see how close my nearest neighbor is.  Yikes!

Here's the hubs and my baby painting over the dark livingroom.  I told them to make a funny face.  ☺ Yesterday, we moved boxes over, cleaned and unpacked a bit.  We'll do the same today.  My DIL and the grands will come to say goodbye to the farm today, plus go with us to see the new house.  Busy, busy times but I actually felt really excited while I was there yesterday even though I still feel a bit shy about being in a neighborhood.  If you're a country girl, you understand.  Cleaning and unpacking a bit made me feel more like it's mine and I'm sure I'll feel more secure as time goes by.  Thanks for coming by and for you comments of cheer!  Remember, I moderate my comments so don't worry if you don't see your comment come up right away.

So excited for your new house and I think once you adjust to the nearness of neighbors, you'll enjoy being 5 minutes from McDonald's. Oh, what's that? Oh yeah, I'm the one who's addicted to McDonald's :) Anyway, can't wait to see all the changes as they happen. Bless the grands as they say good-by to the farm and hello to the new house, lots of great new memories to be made. Hugs ~ Mary

Holly, This is so much fun watching you move into your new home. It's going to be so wonderful. Seeing your guys paint reminds me I need to repaint my own house, ugh!
Yes, we met Fred in the stands at Saratoga Park in NY and tapped in the aisle, "Up on your toes, down on your heels..." HOW EMBARRASSING!!! to think we did this. We were 14! Merry Day coming your way! E

SO nice to have that empty lot next to you, so you will feel like you have more space! Make sure to take it easy on your back, and let the men handle most of that!

Oh Holly such exciting times for you and to be in now before Christmas will be fun. I understand exactly how you feel about being in a 'neighborhood'. You know Holly I never did like it the 11 years we were in one and was thrilled when we finally sold and moved up to the foothills of CA. This could be a stepping stone for you depending on how the economy goes you know. Take care. Nan

Holly, this is so exciting! You will probably find that you still have a lot of privacy in your new neighborhood, or that people are kind country families who also don't want to live in big suburbs.
have fun decorating and we'll all be here with you, Holly.

I love my neighborhood...it's on a cul-de-sac (French for "Bag End"...looking forward to the Hobbit movie.) Anyhoo...it's a cozy feeling here. My neighbors are nice...I'm sure yours will be as well. I am soooo happy for you! Blessings on your new home!

Moving is such a big job, but it sounds like you have everything in hand. I'm sure it will take some adjusting to get used to living in town, but you may find that you really like it. Maybe you will have super neighbors, like the wonderful folks that have lived next to us for the past 6-7 years. They're a great family and we love their sweet kids.

I can't wait to see the changes you make. Thanks so much for bringing us all along on this new adventure. I hope you are able to transition into the suburbs. Being a country girl myself, I know this must be hard.

Happy Holidays, Holly!
