Farm Tribute

I thought I'd do a pictorial tribute to the farm.  345 acres of peace, privacy and solitude.  Thank you Lord for letting me live there as long as I did.  (I added a few craft and decorating pics along the way- as well as my weight loss photo since they were a part of the farm, too.  Enjoy!

I spent the night at our new house last night!  Everything is crazy messy, but the pets are adjusting and so am I. The hardest part is over! ( My guys always adjust to anything immediately- lucky ducks!)

Thanks for all the painting the door advice!  Now here's a funny question.  Are you "supposed" to paint the inside of the door, too?

Gorgeous pictures Holly!!! The setting of the farm is so beautiful!!

I did not paint the inside of my door because the red did not go with my romantic soft aqua sitting room :) But I think it is just up to the homeowner :) Whateve makes you happy!

Love ya and cant wait to see what color you choose!

No you don't paint the inside the same color that would probably be white.

What a beautiful farm setting, I know you had many wonderful years there. The one taken from inside the barn looking out is my favorite, all of them are lovely. So glad you got the first night at the new place under your belt. It's all good! Hugs ~ Mary

The photos of your life on the Farm are so beautiful and a meaningful tribute to your time there.
I love all of them!
The door should be the color you wanton the outside and then on the inside match the molding and such in your white living room. Also the exterior door requires exterior paint for the weather, unlike the indoor side. :)
Enjoy your first few days of unpacking ...each day will feel more like home xox.

I can see why you would be missing living in such a beautiful place. The setting of the house and colors remind me of Anne of Green Gables. So serene. But you have been blessed with such sweet memories and look at this move as a new chapter with many more memories to come!

Holly, what a great walk down memory lane. No wonder you loved that farm so much. I am glad you got to live there, at least for awhile. I just know you are going to love your new home. I have never painted cabinet doors, but think that the insides should probably be painted to. Have a great day! Twyla

What a beautiful home you had for all those years on the farm. Wishing you a very happy new chapter in your life.
About the door... yes. But does not have to be the same color on both sides.

Oh my Holly, this is fabulous! Almost made me cry. So happy that you were able to have this as part of your life. You will always have those memories to cherish! Now for the door. You usually do not paint the inside the same as the outside. The inside would be the color of the other doors in your home. White, cream, etc. But now days, anything goes! Best of luck sweetie!
p.s. you should link this to Cindy's Farmhouse party. Even though it's not Christmas, it's just sweet!

Holly, are you meaning front door or cabinet doors? Cabinet doors I would paint the same color.

Hi Holly! Oh, your farm was so lovely but I know you'll love your new home. Probably not so much work to do in town. I'm giggling as my son had the same happy apple when he was a little boy. I remember it being heavier than it looked! :) Wonder what ever happened to it? Thanks for popping in and don't work too hard!
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
