Sailing Season Has Begun!

Garage sailing that is!  Sale-ing isn't correct either so don't laugh!  When Bobby got home from work Saturday morning, we took to the road in our matching feed mill coats and hit a few sales!  Yellow Snowflake Pyrex for $1.00!  I'm having so much fun finding Pyrex for display, resale and trading!
Adorable pink cutter quilt for $2.00!
See, it's already been cut on.  Now that I know how to sew with fabric glue, I have all sorts of plans!
I also bought a little hobnail lamp for $5.00- the biggest buy of the morning!  I had one of these years ago but I let one of my sons take it when he left home.

I also bought a box of baby food jars and a shelf for the craft room and a couple of lamp shades for recovering. It was a good first sailing day and it's something the hubs and I can enjoy together.  (He would spend a LOT longer at each sale, though!)

I hope you all have a great week!  I love blogging with you!

Give Away Winner

Sorry I'm late in announcing the garland give away winner!  Our winner was Carol from the Polka Dot Closet!  I contacted Carol by email on Monday but didn't announce it on here because I so was mad at Blogger!
If any of you visited last week, you must have seen that once again I was being told by Blogger "You're popular" so they were messing up my pics and telling me I needed to pay to upgrade!  Researching the problem hasn't helped me so I just wait a week and it goes away.  So, if you come to visit and see my blog messed up, you can know I won't be posting again until it goes back to normal.  Blah-blah-blah!
Garage sale season has begun so I hope to post about my new treasures soon!

Big City Big Rewards

Eeeks!  These Lefton kitties were my BIG reward after going up to the city and getting 30 shots in my leg!  Do you have a wish list?  I do- and these kitties were on it!  I wish you all could have seen my face when I found them!  I would love to acquire the whole set of kitties but the S&P shakers were the perfect first!  They are missing their stoppers so I got a good deal.  Who cares about the stoppers- I just want their sweet faces! Prepare to be jealous because the hubs really spoiled me on our big shopping day!  We went to soooo many shops- antique malls, thrifts and flea markets!
Yay!  I finally have a lamby planter now too!  It was another item on my wish list!  Now I'll be able to join the Easter parade next year!
I found another canister set, too!  So bright and happy!  I actually was hoping to find a blue or pink set this time around but red sets are much more common up here.
For now, the new set is in the kitchen but I think most of us end up moving things all around- right?  ☺
THIS Alpine Chalet bread pan was a sentimental find.  This is the pattern of my early childhood. ♥  My mom was all about blue and green- even her cars.  I didn't even know Fire King made anything with this pattern on it until I joined Pinterest!  I haven't researched it enough to know if I got a good deal but I HAD to have it!
I bought more little potholders to add to my collection, too!  There are sooo many thrifts and antique stores in the city.  This country girl had FUN!
We had the perfect date day and hopefully, I'm all done with leg procedures now!

Give Away Time For My Readers!

Who wants a button ball garland? Say I DO!
It's so much more fun to make one for you than me so I'm ready!  I love you all so much and your friendship means so much to me that I want to give back to you!
This give away is for my regular readers/commenters only so there's no need to spread the word.
Just leave a comment on this post saying you want one and if I draw your name- you can choose your own colors!
I'll leave this open for about a week to make sure everyone sees it!

Small Treasures, Craft Supplies And Reality

Hello blog friendies!  Above and below are my latest thrift store finds:  Above is a sweet  vintage Texas Ware (melamine) plate that matches my curtains.  It was 30 cents!  It was in a box with a bunch of cheap paper plate holders and I passed it up twice before I saw it and her twin wink out at me!  It pays to dig!  Below is a yellow speckle Pyrex cake pan that was $2.00!  Sorry I don't give the #s of my pieces.  I hate numbers and they hate me!
Micheal's has a cute new line of buttons that I just love!  They have these flowers in different colors and dotty buttons, too!  These will look so cute in my mini button ball garlands.
For those of you who have been wanting to see my living room- here it is below!  Ha-ha!
TV with movies stacked everywhere, school books, computers, guitars and accessories  climbing gear, dirty dishes, CD players and radios, dogs, cats and lots of dust and dander... It's a man cave but with a cathedral ceiling!  It's quite the contrast to the rest of the cottage- right?  ☺
Too bad this is the first room entered at the cottage but I love my guys and they are so tolerant of my cutie pie obsession that I try not to mess with their space too much. I do  plan to eventually spruce it up a bit so
stay tuned.

Thank you
*so much* for all the pats on the back concerning my curtains and my dinning room!
My high school Home Economics teacher made fun of me for not being about to cut fabric straight so it was a real test of bravery for me to cut up that sheet!

On Monday, Bobby and I will travel up north to C D Lane for a small leg vein treatment.  Well, it will be about 20 shots in my leg so it's not too small!  Afterward, we'll go treasure hunting at the awesome antique malls up there and go out to eat!  Last time we went, I found my Irmi humpty dumpty lamp so I hope to find something great once again!  I'll let you know what I find!

Thanks for coming by!

I Made Curtains!

*For the first time ever* I made curtains!  I bought a vintage sheet from the thrifts, cut it up the middle and a bit off the bottom and hemmed it with fabric glue!  I then glued each panel to the cream colored panel that was already hanging there!  I'm so proud of myself!  No measuring or sewing!
Aw!  Don't they make the dinning room look so airy and sweet?  Below is a sellers pic of their style.  I knew those dark drapes would have to go!  I loved burgundy in the 90s but not now.

I actually would like some chairs like they had but I like *my* dinning room much better.  ☺
Here's a close up up the fabric- except in real life, the yellow is less gold.  I'm so proud of myself!  Do they hang straight?  No.  Will they wash well?  Um... we'll worry about that when the time comes!

I'm off to the chiropractor today and when I come home I hope to see lots of *pats on the back* comments in my inbox to moderate!  Hee-hee!  I need my girls!

I'm Sinking!

A drowning bunny Peep in my Easter
banana pudding!
It seemed like a good idea at the time.
