Fun New Finds And Fun Decorating!

Hello girls! Want to see my fun, new finds? I bought a little wicker doll hamper from the antique mall!  Eeek!  It was love at first sight!  This Meyercord blue bunny is the same as the pink bunny decal that I've used in the  past.
I keep it by my cozy chair in the dinning room with pink fabric in it for cutting into strips for my button ball garlands.  And speaking of button ball garlands...
Here's my new giant one!
Bobby helped me hang it up yesterday!  It looks just as cute, colorful and happy as I hoped it would!  As you can see, there's still a large blank spot on the wall waiting to be filled.  THAT is for my next project- an embroidery hoop display.
Do you like the shelf at the top of the wall?  I've had the *hardest* time with that shelf!  It's not easy to get to and it takes me a long time to add this and take away that until I get the look I want.  Stay tuned!  The canister set on the left is new, too.  I now have 3 sets of vintage tin canisters so that makes a collection!

Here's a close up of the garland- as close as I could get anyway.  These large balls take a LOT more fabric and I had to collect some giant buttons to go with it too so it was a long term but rewarding project for me.

I'm having so much fun decorating my new little cottage.  Don't expect quick work from me but it *WILL* be cute!
Thank you so much for all your comments about my troubled son.  It means a lot to me to know you care.

Thrifting For Vintage And SEE My Valentine!

Hello girls!  I sure do love thrifting for vintage goodies!  All the items I'm about to show came from the Goodwill and all of them were priced reasonably!  I'm so glad I didn't give up on them!  This first item is a KROMEX ice bucket!  It's looks brand new but my research tells me it's from the late 50's- early 60's.  It's going to go in my kitchen on top of my cabinets!  It's so bright and cheerful! This Pyrex cake pan was only .99!  It's supposed to be flamingo pink but it looks more like a salmon color.  Maybe a dishwasher discolored it?  Does anybody know?  It now resides in my hutch,  ☺
I have fond memories of these vintage Tupperware tumblers!  does anyone else remember them?
There was this pitcher, too.  I remember these as well.
And now- SEE my valentine from Retro Sandie!  Ribbon and cherubs, roses and glitter.  It is a fluffy delight!
Sandie stuffed my box full to overflowing with goodies!
I decided to take a pic of my 3 favorite items in the box-minus the eaten chocolate of course.  ☺ Even though I only do about 2 swaps a year, they are so much fun for me!  Thanks for being my partner, Sandie!  And thank you Erica for hosting the swap!
So how are you all handling the winter this year?  This is the first time I think it's ever gone fast for me!  Not only has it been a mild winter but I've just been so busy and having so much fun settling in and shopping more too since living in town.  I *am* still looking forward to spring but it's not like I'm walking through quick sand like most winters!

The hubs has to work on Valentines day so we went out for breakfast yesterday and then went junking.  I can't wait till garage sale season now that we'll be living in town!  Bobby shops longer than I do but I'm hoping I can encourage him to hurry more this year- so we don't lose the good deals!♥
Thanks for coming by and HAPPY VALENTINES DAY to you all!

Repurposing Vintage Fabric!

Hello blog friendies!  I bought a vintage baby quilt at the thrifts and some of the squares were UG-ILY!  Some of it was scratchy and I knew I would never put the quilt on any of my grand babies so I cut it up!  GASP!  Some of the fabrics were cute like this one and some were just so 70ish that I decided I'll make a mini banner out of them!  I'll show you when it's done.  A few of the squares had fabric that will work for my button ball garlands so they'll be repurposed in that way and I scanned some of the pieces before cutting them up into triangles so I can use them printed out on paper in the future.  Here's an example of one of them.  Feel free to copy it if you like.
My grand babies moved away yesterday.  Boo-hoo!  I hate long, sad goodbyes so I sent them off with my favorite funny face.  ☺ Seems like I've been sick all month long with one thing after another and I still am so our parting wasn't real memorable in any other way!  I tried to make some special memories with them before they left but we were all so stressed with both our families moving!  Stress just makes me sick.  I don't get high blood pressure, yell or get angry- I just get sick.  I know I'll perk back up eventually but for now, I'm laying low and resting up!  I hope to take and post fun pics of  my Valentine swap from Retro Sandie soon!
