A Yo Yo Parade!

My Holiday yo yos wanted their own photo shoot so I thought I'd have a yo yo parade!  For fabric choices, I'm mixing holiday prints with any red, white or green prints.
I have a baby yo yo maker now!  They turn out so tiny.  I eventually want a maker in every size.
I make yo yos on my porch on sunny mornings but also while I watch TV with the guys or on my computer.
The little ones fit perfectly in this little button bottle!
Just for fun, I made a few babies in pastels, too.
I've been hitting the button sales and using my coupons for these large Christmas buttons for months!  I can't wait to string them up on my large green tree.
We can't leave my little rag balls out of the parade!  They will go on a garland for my little green tree.  I'll have 3 trees this year!  My largest green tree, my medium white which will go on the porch and my tiny green one that will go on the kitchen island.  I'm so excited!

Happily Crafty!

Oh yeah!  Bring on the Christmas crafting!  I'm making yo yos and rag balls galore!
I had to pack and move last year so there was no Christmas crafty fun for me and that was so sad!
Yes, it's early yet but we all know how time flies when you're having fun!
I have plans for ball garlands fro my trees and yo yo garlands, too!
I also want to make rag ball and yo yo ornaments and yo yo Christmas trees, too.  Oh- and a yo yo elf!
We'll see what all I get done.

The Crafting View

Want to join me on the porch?  On cool, sunny mornings, I sit on my love seat, drink coffee and make yo yos.
I like to pause and look up and around to prevent getting a crick in my neck and so I can just enjoy the morning.
It's not like I have a spectacular view or anything but I just wanted to share with you what I see.
Scrappy likes his new spot.
My house and porch are humble but I like them.  They make me feel happy.
I didn't show any pics of the many joggers, bikers and dog walkers that go by.  They have taken some getting used to but I'm adjusting.
Thanks for joining me!

Candy Corn Cornucopia

I painted a candy corn cornucopia!  Try saying that 3 times- or even once!
Ever painted wicker?  I've been painting on this baby for days!  No matter which way you turn it- it's patchy!  Ha!  Oh well.  My wrists say it's done!
Scrappy was like, "Here, mom, I'll pose with it and make it look better!"
Then he said, "No wait- I'll get *IN* the cornucopia!  That will work- right?"

Oh silly Scrappy!

Well I think that's it for my fall crafting.  I had the house to myself today so I started my Christmas crafting and had a big ole crafting to oldies day!  Yahooey!

Thanks for coming by!

Jann's Garland

I made a custom ordered rag ball garland for Jann of Have A Daily Cup With Mrs. Olson.

Jann wanted mustard, grey and red to be her main colors.  I'm used to working with red but not mustard and grey so it was a fun challenge!

Jann has received her garland now so I can finally show you.

Jann said I could add browns, tans, creams and touches
of Aqua to the garland, too.

This garland will hang in Jann's craft room and hopefully she'll let us see it there!  Please let me know if I can make a garland for you- for sale or trade.  A 3FT. garland is $20.00 and a 4 FT is $25.00.

Well, I have one more fall project that I'm working on and then I think I'm going to be ready to move on to Christmas crafting!  I want to make a giant rag ball garland for my green tree and maybe one for my white tree, too!

Thanks for coming by!

Fun Birthday Treasure Hunting!

Hello friends!
As most of you know, Bobby took me antiquing for my birthday!
We went to 3 stores I'd never been to before.
This sweet pink Gooseberry Pyrex pan was in a way over priced MANtique store.
It was waaaay in the back but only $5.00!  Yay!
It's my first gooseberry!
Another travel case for putting fabric in!
My mom had one very similar and I loved playing with it when I was little.
It has a mirror inside but I couldn't get a good pic of it.
If I ever travel again, I'll take it with!
I also bought several inexpensive smalls including this adorable card!
It's like a little book and I just had to show it all to you!
Love the "big as a house" reflection!  ☺
"Wonder if it's habit forming!"  Ha-ha!
So cute!  Now if I can only find a way to really display it/use it/ enjoy it ALL the time!
Here's some of the other smalls.
The birthday candle box will live in my hutch and I loved the blue and red on the cards.

The ash tray below reminds me so much of my mom!
She loved green glass, was a heavy smoker and died in her early 50s.
I hate what smoking did to her but this ash tray was small and it called out to me.
Maybe I've finally accepted my mom for who she was- every part of her-
even the part that couldn't quit smoking.
I loved this adorable, little aluminum pan!
The tumblers are on my wish list but they must be a reasonable price!
Not $4.00 a piece like I've been seeing!
Tiny little child's plate will live somewhere in my hutch, too!

My DIL gave me this thrifted dotty planter!  One side can be for Christmas
and the other side can be for year round!
I love how she left the price tags on.
She knew I'd appreciate what a good deal she got!

My eldest boy gave me a **movie theater card** for my birthday!
There's a bunch of movies coming out this fall that I want to see so I'm excited to use it!  My eldest also brought dinner over and bought a cake!  (I HINTED a lot!)  Ha-ha!

My youngest boy wanted to give me $50.00 for my birthday!
I was shocked!
He's working part time now but I told him I didn't want him to spend that much on me since he's not working full time.
He said, "Fine, $40.00 then."

I think I'm going to buy clothes.  Crisp NEW ones- not thrifted!

All in all it was a wonderful birthday.
The day after I felt exhausted and depressed to return to regular life.
Does that ever happen to you?

On The Crafting Front:
All fall crafting came to a halt as I received a custom rag ball garland order for Jann!  I'll show it to you once she gets it.
Now that I'm done it's back to painting a cornucopia!
I think it's going to look really cute.

Have a great week, everyone!

It's My Birthday!

I'm 52 years old today but most days, I still feel like this 10 year old country lovin' girl!

Bobby is taking me antiquing and out to lunch but then he'll have to come home and sleep.  We'll see if my boys caught the hint to make sure I have a cake.

My guys treat me really well all year long but they *don't* observe gift giving days very well.  That's why I tend to treat myself.

Thanks for the gift of you friendship!
