My Tree Is Up!

I can't remember when it took me so long to finish my tree!
Having an empty nest and no grands near by gives me less motive!

I took pics from several angles but the area around my cozy chair and high chair is still messy so you'll have to wait to see the whole room!

I've since decorated the window behind the tree a bit more.

Hope you're all fairing well over the holidays!
I have a cold right now so I'm resting a lot- making yo yos and watching my favorite shows on Netflix!

Merry Christmas!

Hutch Close Ups!

Are you ready for some hutch close ups?

I love how you can see all the paint layers on my hutch in this pic!

Can you tell that my tree topper is broke?

I'm still hoping to find another fish bowl for the kitties!

Thanks for coming by and leaving a quick comment!
Hope you're all able to ENJOY Christmas time and not feel stressed!

I Finished!

I finished the hutch!  For now.  :)
I actually liked it better last year but I was determined to do it differently this.
The addition of my pink appliances is fun though- right?
Also- Happy in a snowglobe makes me laugh.
It doesn't take much to amuse me.

Merry Christmas all!

Christmas Fun At The Cottage

There's all sorts of fun around the cottage lately!  I've been decorating the hutch counter,
making mostly red yo yo elves for customers,

working on the hutch one cubby at a time,  (Maybe I'll be done by Christmas!)

thrifting for vintage Christmas and letting mostly red elves show people,

more thrifting for Christmas,  (The cashier boy said he didn't think anyone would buy it and told Bobby that his name must be Dave!  Ha!)

looking at the snow out my craft room window and making yo yos for trees and elves,

playing with last years reindeer find,

Making an elf in mostly green,

making progress on the hutch top
and TODAY is my husband Bobby's birthday!
We have 3 birthdays during the holidays!
I'm staying busy but having fun!

Leave a comment if you want an elf!  $40.00- free shipping!

 Silly Happy!

(Does anyone have tips for photographing glass?  I can't seem to get a pic without some glare on it!)

Crafting Bunches, Decorating Bits and Treasure hunting Fun!

Merry Christmas, girls!  I've been crafting for Denise,
collecting and decorating for me.
Crafting for Nan,
antiquing and decorating for me.  (The ornaments are a new find)

My hutch was all done by this time last year but I wasn't selling my crafts full time last year so it's slower going!

Hope you all had a great Thanksgiving.  I sure did.

Comment and I'll love you.  ;)

Yo Yo Trees And Elves!

I've been making and selling yo yo tress and elves and it's so much fun!

I've been humming Jingle Bells

and We Are Santa's Elves as I work.
Big thanks to Creative Breathing Elizabeth who gave me my first yo yo maker and gave me to the nudge to sell my crafts!

Hope you're enjoying the Holidays!

The Ghost of Pictures Past

Hello blog friendies!  Do you remember my Christmas hutch from last year?

The challenge will be to make it just as cute this year- yet different.

I have more vintage Christmas items and dishes to add this year but not much.

Looking at these old pics gives me inspiration for this year!

I look forward to seeing all of your holiday decor!
Have a great day!

Thrifting for Christmas

The Christmas items have hit the Goodwill!
It took a lot of searching thru row after row but I found these 2 vintage angel tree toppers.  I collect these so now I have 4.  My dream is to find *The One* that I had in childhood- a rare black haired one with her hair in a bun.
I also found this fat and very vintage Holly garland- about 5 Ft long!
I love it!

I've been undressing the hutch, dusting it and washing the previous occupants- Pyrex and Melamine, etc.  Then of course I have to organize my kitchen cupboards to make room for it all!  Once that is done, I'll start Bobby will start taking down the Christmas boxes to decorate the hutch!
Hutch 1rst- then the tree.  That's the order and it takes a few weeks!
But this year, my feet don't hurt!  Yay!

Hope you're all having fun!

Bring On The Christmas!

I can't hold back any longer!
For those of you who believe in one holiday at a time, don't comment because I don't need that kind of negativity in my life!  Ha-ha!

These Santa mugs and the spaghetti Santa were in the dollar
ROOM at the Clarkston Antique mall called the Hangar.  (It's in an old airplane hangar)
That's my kind of dollar store!

I've been busy, busy making Christmas yo yos for elves and hope to have one finished to show you soon.
The last 6 months have been a very difficult time in my life and I look forward to the Christmas cheer.

Christmas time is my favorite time to blog and I look forward to seeing your Christmas posts!

A Collection Starts

Hello fellow blogging friends!
I found these sweet Lustoware shakers when I went antiquing with my son for my birthday.
They have cracks on their backs so they were only $4.00 for the pair!
They needed a bit of scrubbing up too but I never mind that.

I think treasure hunting is so fun- don't you?
I never buy much since I live in a small house but I always manage to find a little something to make me smile!

Hope you're all enjoying your fall!

Three Makes A Collection!

I finally found my third painted sifter!  It has a wonderful red wooden knob AND a chunky red handle!  there's a little decal on the front, too.
It has been happily added to my red and green sifter
 AND my apple sifter!
Here's all three together so you can see the size difference.

There's just something about them- like a hug from my mother and grandmother.

I don't have any large collections.  I would become bored with collecting only one thing.  I probably have more Pyrex than anything else.  Or maybe baby planters- or is it suitcases?

Hope you're all enjoying fall!  I don't really do Halloween but I do love fall.  I only wish it lasted longer.  Winter comes early when you live in the north!

Thanks for coming by!

New Dresser For The Craft Room

Hello bloggers!  How are you?
I guess this is a decal season for me because I found *another* pink decaled item on my second birthday shopping trip!  First the cradle when I went with my hubs and now this dresser that I found with my son!
I put it on top of my new vintage craft table!  I have fabric and trims in all the cute drawers.
See my new appliances on the table, too?  That gives you an idea of their size.
I'm keeping supplies in them and on them because they serve a purpose other than just being cute!
I sure am being treated like a queen lately but after the summer I had, I needed some pampering (and not the diaper kind)

Thanks for coming by!  I love your comments
